Hi! Got a 2019 pcx150 with 600 miles on it a couple weeks ago. Picked up a Yuminashi variator and drive face at the recommendation of someone on the fb group. Didnt really see much improvement in accel or top speed with the included 12 g weights or a combination of the included weights and the 17 g stock weights. For kicks I put the stock barrier back in with the 12 and 17 gram combination and it felt basically the same. It accelerates pretty well up to about 57 mph and then kind of drops off and creeps up to around 62. I haven't taken it on a long enough straight to see what the actual top speed is but 60 to 62 seems to be the reasonable practical top speed without having a huge stretch of road to Max it out. This seems kind of low.
So my questions are does this sound reasonable for what I've been doing or am I doing something wrong and also what is the best setup for this year. I've seen that the final drive ratios changed over the years so different years will behave differently. I don't mind spending some money to get the best performance possible out of the cvt.
Insight and personal experience is greatly appreciated!

No thoughts?

This is not Facebook. You dont get quick responses. lol
I think I answered you on FB too... Newer PCX's have shorter gears so they don't respond to Variators as good as the older models.

I have a 2013 PCX and it responded well with the variator change, but as we have found by much investigation on this forum, after 2013 Honda started changing the gearing which eventually reached a point of change the variator changes alone did nothing to enhance speed. Leave it to the manufacturer to make our improvements almost impossible in future models. Sorry, but the only way you will succeed with your variator change now is to actually change out the teeth in the gears. Sorry.

I have a '17 and I got almost 10mph increase in speed with just a Variator and Driveface.
Just did some research and it looks like the 17-18 still have the same gear ratios. The 2019+ have the steeper gears, Thus giving you less top end even with an aftermarket Variator.

Re: 2019 PCX 150 CVT Upgrade
Well I just picked up the transmission gear set from a 2015. A lot of people talk about the highlighted gears that you showed but if you look above them there is a set of gears that are actually significantly more changed from 2018 to 2019. It goes from like 17/13 to 15/16.
I'll be really curious to see how swapping these gears out helps on the 2019

Please report back if you swap out the gears. I'm curious if it's worth the work.
