Hi to all. New to the user forum. New scooter rider too. Love my new Honda PCX150! Unfortunately, I messed up already! My inexperience led to my poorly manuevering out of the way of a "sorry I didn't see you" driver in a parking lot, despite being day-glo all over. I ran up on a concrete parking block and knocked a large dent in the muffler pipe between exhaust and body on the lower left.
Two questions:
1. Can someone CONFIDENTLY tell me if it is still safe to ride the scooter with a dented exhaust pipe? Not crimped, no holes, just about 3inch long area of 1/2 the diameter in the pipe now.
2. Looks like a very simple unbolt, then rebolt new muffler in place repair... is there anything "tricky" to replacing a muffler re: exhaust fumes?
Thank you very much everyone!
Hit the throttle too hard! No hole, doesn't overheat when I ride, no weird noises. Since I am an inexperienced rider, I would like to ride it as is until I become a more seasoned dodge and swerve agile rider, in case I have another oops. The pipe is low and exposed, so likely the site of other maneuverability practice errors. I definitely plan to replace the muffler-exhaust pipe (one solid unit) after a few more months of "getting my feet wet". I will replace ASAP if there is a safety issue involved, but this is what I do not know. Need Safety Advice re: muffler

Can't see your picture, but in answer to the questions
1: Yes (only potential hazard I can think of would be if a hole had developed near the cylinder head)
2: Really easy, piece of piss, nothing to worry about at all.
However (imo) so long as it isn't holed there's no point changing it.

Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong
Re: Need Safety Advice re: muffler
Thank you very much. There is NO hole, I checked thoroughly. I appreciate your time and advice.

Worked that time!
Don't worry about it. Your engine might get a bit more backpressure, but you'll still get good exhaust flow. Carry on, and don't worry about it!
