2 friends, 2 PCX, 4 days, 900 km, and a lot of fun
It was a nice trip, from Phuket a run to Kho Lanta, two nights of stay there, then back to Krabi, next day to visit friends in Phang Nga, next day back via Koh Kho Khao to Phuket. We tried several version to keep the luggage, it was saddle bags vs. Rucksack. I decided to take the Rucksack and applied one of my cheap ways to attach it securely to my Red Rat. It was really fun and we made 13 Geocaches on the way... To be repeated!

It's always nice to see pictures. Keep them coming.
The photo with the two PCX's on a boat reminds me of a trip years ago to Ko Si Chang (near Sri Racha, Chonburi). The PCX is capable of touring but still tiny enough to take to an island on a small boat. A 300 cc Forza wouldn't fit any more, I guess.

I have learned from my mistakes, and I am sure I can repeat them exactly.

I used a 3/4" tube but it might be easier with a 1/2" tube. But it was just great - everywhere we stopped on the tour, I just pulled out the tube and shouldered the bag, no long messing around and I had my bag secure with me. Other valuables where stored under the seat, and with the alarm enabled it is a quite safe place to keep things.Urbanian wrote:Brilliant! It will not be long until I take the next tour with the PCX, this short trip was just a beta test for my seat and I will change the position of the handlebars a bit to make it fit with the modified seat.

By the way, notice on "PCX on Trip 1", you can see the "Cool Seat" on my bike, custom made for my modified seat, and I really can recommend it. That guy from Hat Yai provides a great service!

16 Euro for a hook compared to a few Baht for a piece of PVC pipe does not get me hooked.Dudley wrote:powerbypcx sells a perfect hook for that.

Nice pun.
That's awesome that you and your friend have the same color PCX. They look like a matched set -- very cool.

Re: 2 friends, 2 PCX, 4 days, 900 km, and a lot of fun
Actually, my friend rented the PCX (the one with the saddle bags) in Phuket, he came down from Nong Khai by plane. The one he got was a 125, modified engine to upgrade to 150cc. The beast was doing very well, but she was coughing on E20 gasoline, while my original 150 took it down like a cool beer. There will be another tour (with more pictures), for sure.maddiedog wrote:Nice pun.

Excellent! The pic of the bikes loaded on the ferry is worthy of "Front Page" on the ADV site.

OMG and there was me riding around shops trying to find a 'bag hook' thinking all the time there must be an easy way just to hook bags on those bars. Time to chop off a 10cm length of pipe to store under the seat. Excellent!FritzPinguin wrote:I used a 3/4" tube but it might be easier with a 1/2" tube.
