PCX150 Mirrors - Has anyone painted?

Post by Jhois1 »

I am not sure if I would paint or not. However, I am not a huge fan of the mirrors that are offered out there with the different colors or styles. Mostly because of the size, as they are smaller.

I have the all black PCX and would like to have yellow mirrors to match the look I want to go with. See pic below with the yellow rim tape.

If anyone knows of a yellow paint that would work on the mirrors please let me know.

Thanks, Joe

I've not painted mine. Perhaps something like this from Krylon? http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion-for-plastic/

They're going to look shit if you paint them.
Better to get aftermarket ones.

Thought I would purchase some Krylon spray paint for plastic. So I started the process. So far below is the1st step to mask the areas I don't want to paint. I will add some more photos once it dries.

It turned out just ok...but it was a fun little project. o_O

Now, I just have to see if it lasts any amount of time. If it ends up as a fail, I am prepared to just buy some stock ones again for the small amount of money they cost

Looks nice. My aftermarket white mirrors are smaller and vibrate a bit more than the stock mirrors. But the vibes are only really noticable when idling, and as I use the idle stop, that only last 3 seconds before I get peace and tranquility at traffic lights.

I was sceptical at first. Now, it turns out to be quite OK. Even more insect-like, antennae on top of an ant's head. Or is it a honey bee?
I have learned from my mistakes, and I am sure I can repeat them exactly.

If this turns out not to work, I may look at the mirrors suggested in the above post...

Does anyone even sell it to fit the PCX?

I think I would like the look as well!

I found a 1/8 inch 50 foot roll $20 at stripeman.com looks like that would do the trick ;)

I would think the vinyl stripe would hold up pretty well,
seems like it would be an easy job for anyone with a steady hand...
