Europe trip video
Finally got round to making a video of my trip round Europe last year. The pcx is very capable of long trips and i had the adventure of my life, apart from France...France was mostly shit.

This July i'm looking into doing the south coast from Brighton to Land's End, then north Cornwall/Devon and back to London.

Re: Europe trip video
Way cool! Thanks for the Vid, I am always down for scooter porn......
That first bit of road looks like too much fun! I am picking up a 150 and this vid and others like it have given me the assurance that the PCX is the way to go.

Nice
thanks for sharing.

Re: Europe trip video
So, a little more info on France. I guess from your comment you didn't enjoy France at all. That would be what I got from it.ben wrote:Finally got round to making a video of my trip round Europe last year. Spectacular scenery and roads... but, the snow, rain, and wet roads made my butt pucker! Mountain twisties are fun, but this southern boy likes his roads dry. Thanks for posting that!

Re: Europe trip video
I loved that video of the European trip!
About Butt Puckering, here is a video some one else did on a ride through the mountains of Washington State in May of 2012. This is not what I typically do, since I am an urban commuter, but there are some crazies around where I live. It looks like Ben's trip looked mostly like the snow scenes in this:

In my fantasy life I imagine myself being able to take a trip like ben's.
Despite the sometimes cold and wet scenes, I simply envy the opportunity!

Re: Europe trip video
I'm over the hill now, but back in my glory days my wife and I rode bicycles from the middle of the US (Minnesota) Northwest to Alaska through Banff and Jasper parks in Canada during the month of May.
The scene on the left is our tent in Banff, Alberta, Canada in May of 1978, and the scene of me on the right is in July in the Matanuska Valley in Alaska. I just wish we could do something cool like ben's trip again.
Ben, if you ever travel to the Seattle area, it would be great to talk to you about your travels.

Re: Europe trip video
Nice! Now I am thinking about dumping the XL1000 I just got for touring and just potter about on the PCX...but as I will be riding two up I need to think again. How was the performance going uphill? And I second the question about your experience in France as I just love going to the cote d'azur and Monaco area.
I like the reflective stickers on your bike, you molded them to fit the contours of the front fairing and I was thinking about ways to stick some reflective stickers to mine but without making it look like a Police bike. So far I put some nice decals from http://www.reflectivedecals.com/ on mine and some red reflexite (EC104 - same stuff used for HGV contour marking) on the top box. Which ones did you use, especially going around the front contours?

Re: Europe trip video
France is beautiful in places but most of it looks the same making it very boring for potting along on a 125cc. The drivers were terrible, when i got stuck on a dual carriageway i ended up driving down the hard shoulder for about 6 miles as i felt so unsafe (the day before i had done several miles on the M25 with no problems)! 95% of the people i met were rude, miserable or both.PKrellner wrote:So, a little more info on France. If i do this sort of trip again i would no doubt get a ferry to Santander and follow the north border of Spain then just do the south of France, i think i would enjoy the place much more that way!
Re: Europe trip video
I fitted the reflectors just for the trip as i wanted to be as visible as possible, even bought a white helmet and when in cities often covered the topbox with a yellow hiviz vest!djcat wrote: I like the reflective stickers on your bike, you molded them to fit the contours of the front fairing and I was thinking about ways to stick some reflective stickers to mine but without making it look like a Police bike. The reflectors were just a strip of good quality 3M diamond tape cut to the shape i want, it doesn't spoil the look of the bike either!

Re: Europe trip video
Wow thank you Ben, what a treat that was to watch
Beautiful scenery! And the twisties....fun! How many miles did you travel? I have to admit you have a lot more nerve than I do. Mother nature certainly gave you a mix of weather. I'll leave the wet, ice and snow to folk like you, a true rider! Can't wait to see your next adventure! Cheers and roll on
