Re: Like these helmets?
I saw a someone with what looks like the 2nd helmet (Vemar) on a white PCX(with a ermax screen too) when i was driving into london today.
I don't like these helmets, purely for the safety. I'll be sticking with a full face, or a modular helmet of a decent brand.
In England there are actually laws regarding helmets, you have to wear. they must have a BSI (i think thats it) sticker on the back.
But i doubt any traffic police would actually check.

Well I like this Bell helmet, because it gives more safety to your head and full face. And I like this style helmets more. Thanks for sharing, I know these are little expensive but I think they are the best helmets.Slickvic wrote:I bought a Bell Airraid helmet for $99 last year. Re: Like these helmets?
Cheers Hadden1 for wearing a helmet and a colorful one at that!
Going back to the AGV Blade for a moment, it seems to be a winner hat according to this Very Recent review: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcyc ... review.htm.
I just might break my own law with a purchase & sport this around town

Re: Like these helmets?
I really like mine and it is my first FF helmet. But, the first time I put it on with the chin curtain (which was included) I felt like I was suffocating with the shield lowered. I checked to make sure the vents were open and they were. So, I pulled the chin curtain out and immediately felt much better.WhiteNoise wrote:Now look what I tripped upon while catching up on gear news, another very recent review: the HJC CL-16......The Best? http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcyc ... le-helmet/
Now that I am used to wearing the helmet I may try the curtain again when the weather turns cooler and I want less air moving around my head.

Re: Like these helmets?
I love the HJC CL's, my cl15 "mutant" was only about $80 new and when I needed a new visor...
I found a cl15 "draco" (barely used) for $40 on ebay( like $20 for just the visor).
And I've tried on the cl16 before and found it to be even nicer than the cl15.
I would for sure recommend a HJC CL if you want quality and cheap prices
and if you dont mind pink flames or something you can find them really cheap

Re: Like these helmets?
Yes it does Taz. Mine is a size Large and it fits nicely facing forward with the shield down. The chin curtain inserts between the shell and the liner and really doesn't take up any space.Taz wrote:Does the hjc with chin curtin fit under the pcx seat?
Another nice feature is the additional sun shield that can be deployed incrementally inside the outer shield. It flips out of the way with a push of a button and it doesn't inhibit the use of eyeglasses/sunglasses.

Re: Like these helmets?
Nice. I paid $80 dealer price just for a replacement clear visor for my Shark helmet and its still a noisy expensive helmet. Will look at the HJC when next in a dealer shop.
Re: Like these helmets?
I am a full face or flip-up modular helmets guy. Don't like the jets. Though I can't consider myself as a handsome guy
, I'll try my best to avoid being uglier and keep my teeth in place.
This said, modular=noisy. Earplugs when riding or driving are stupidly illegal in this country, so you're actually chancing a fine and loss of points if you use them. I do use them. Not when commuting in the city as at the legal 50 kph speed limit I won't need them, but if I happen to get out of town and consequently reach speeds over 80 kph, I'll wear them. If I happen to be pulled over by the cops I'll flip my helmet's visor up and still be able to hear what they want from me since those earplugs will attenuate only certain frequencies, but go explain that to the arse that made that law in Madrid.
Quiet and modular... as far as I know, it's only the Schuberth C3 and the HJC R-Pha Max. Both pricey. Will have to wait a few months since I have some other hobbies and will need gear for them.

Re: Like these helmets?
We just bought the HJC FG-Jet helmets -- 3/4 coverage with internal sun visor and nice, clear face shield that is optically correct. I'm fanatical about that.
We like them. Nice ventilation. Decent noise control.
I wear an XL and it just does fit under the seat (easiest when I'm not wearing it).
