Forking hell...

Re: Forking hell...
Just checked my forks and there are some rust spots near the top where they clamp on , you can feel them with your finger nail , my bike lives under a cover , it will be 3 yrs old in january and has done 3, 887 miles most of which were dry , not used Iin rain unless it rained while I was out, I would have to say that I am dissapointed in hondas build quality especially after seeing the pictures of your forks and considering my 33 year old superdream forks are in better condition, what are honda playing at , are they using the cheapest parts they can , seems that modern bikes just start to rust at the first signs of moisture, wont do their reputation much good if all their new bikes do the same.

the horror... the horror...
They aren't too bad tbh. A bit of epoxy, new seals and yer laughing
Re: Forking hell...
Might give it a try or I might send them away for regrinding and hard chroming then put the ones I bought back on eBay.

Re: Forking hell...
There not too bad. Just pitting caused by stone chips and lack of cleaning on the area not swept by the fork seals and oil easily repairable with epoxy as long as the chrome plating hasn't started to liftmaddiedog wrote:Oh my, those are forking awful. The pitting is horrendous.
