I have a question about the 150's at higher altitudes. I live in Colorado at 6000 ft. My plan is to buy one for primarily town riding but will occasionally like to take it to some hiking trail heads in the area which might be in the 8000-9000 ft range. I'm not too concerned about the town riding but am about the higher elevations. I have a chance to buy a Used Burgman 400 but would prefer a PCX due to mileage.
Anybody out there ridden at these elevations?
I appreciate any feedback.

Cherohala Skyway....from about 270 ft to 5400+ ft......absolutely no issues....climbing at 55 MPH, due to the metered fuel injection, ignition, etc., I think You'll be fine.....Go For It.....JBGHEAT wrote:I have a question about the 150's at higher altitudes. Re: PCX 150 At Altitude
Just keep in mind that the PCX has a low center stand when it is up, so when you go to the hiking trail heads watch for pot holes.

And mounted in brittle crap which if broken can mean the death of your engine.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Re: PCX 150 At Altitude
GN2's a bit bitter about his centerstand, it just broke. It's the only major flaw with the PCX that's been discovered. Anyways...
The PCX is fuel-injected and regulates the fuel-air mix automatically. You will have no problem whatsoever at those altitudes.
