Honda Zoomer X Mod

Post by kramnala58 »

I saw this Honda Zoomer X at the top of my street today. Likely for someone with balance problems. Not sure why they didn't just make it into a sidecar so at least they could carry something.

I rode with a guy who did this to a Burgman 400. He had muscular sclerosis, and didn't have good balance anymore. I've also seen a guy with one leg on a Harley trike. It's amazing what people will do to keep on riding. :D
Currently ride: Nothing right now - mostly mountain biking with my boys until they're old enough to ride

My buddies wife rides one of these Can-Am Spyders and says she loves it. It is kind of a reverse trike.

Here is a link to a review of them.

I have seen a lot more Can-Am Spiders lately, and many of them are ridden by women. As for the Zummer X, I am still trying to figure out what the pedals are for. I've never seen one of these scooters so I don't know how they are ridden.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150

Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

Here is what they look like. I think they may only be available in Thailand or Asia, but I am not sure. I suspect that the person who owns the one I posted earlier modified it with the extra two wheels because of some sort of disability which makes it difficult for them to balance.

The Zoomer is a tough looking scoot 8) Reminds me of a fav, the Ruckus. During this person's trike conversion I think too many bodyware/plastics were removed. All I see is frame, too much frame. Ah wait, I just took a second look, Now I'm seeing a zoomerdunebuggy :P Now it's Kool! That worked ;)
Cheers...If the owner is disabled, and he saved his bike to go trike, more power to him! He's still enjoying the ride
