Settling on a Givi B33, but one question...

Post by dustin91 »

Anyone use a Givi trunk with a backrest? I'm only expecting my 11 y/o son to ride on the back on occasion, and I don't even know if he'd reach the trunk... but if he does is it worth the $50?

sounds like you're getting 2 for the price of one, the back rest and the truck box for $50... a pretty good deal to me. then, you can bungie stuff (a backpack, etc) to the backrest AND put stuff in the back box. I use my GIVI back box all the time. You'll need a back rack attachment (about $40) unless the back rest attaches to the bike itself. there is a past tread on how to drill the holes and attach the back rack. let us know how you make out, Dustin.

Sorry for the confusion Kim, but the backrest alone is about $50. The box itself is $150, give or take. So $200 total for the slight occasion that my son is with me for a quick ride, so that he might be slightly more comfortable if he's back far enough to touch it, which he may never be. I may be answering my own question!

I might depend on which box you get, but I have the E470 and my wife say that it is quite comfortable without one. In fact putting one on would reduce the seating area, forcing the passenger to lean forward more. But with you thinking of your 11 yr old son, it might just bring it forward enough to make it comfortable for him to rest against.
