Smashed up front end
So I was silly and drove my 3 week old PCX 150 into a cement wall
. At the dealer right now waiting for a quote, gonnna need headlight housing, windshild, plastic under winshield, both side fenders at the front and the plastic around the gas tank, not sure if any structural damage is done but wondering what I should be looking to pay for this repair and so I don't get taken for a ride, labor times, etc. I love this scooter and want it back on the roads ASAP before it gets too cold here in NH!!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Care to provide more details as a cautionary tale for future riders?Leethal88 wrote:So I was silly and drove my 3 week old PCX 150 into a cement wall

Distracted really, hit the throttle too hard, early in the morning... I always tell people not to underestimate these scooters. Had some people from work ride it who have 600+ CC bikes and were impressed how smooth and aglie it is. Def best buy I have had in a while... Luckily I have insurance on it!!

I did the same thing the very first time I rode. In an effort to slow down I pressed the brake lever but also instinctively pulled back which naturally led to giving it more throttle. Fortunately I only bumped a portable sign without damaging anything .... at least nothing more than my ego.Leethal88 wrote:... hit the throttle too hard ...

Re: Smashed up front end
hehe yeah you got off lucky this will cost quite a bit in money considering it seems you have to take the whole back of the scooter apart to take apart the front :/ thank god for insurance!!

If you can repair it yourself you will save a fortune

Don't be surprised if insurance wants to total it out.
And yes, pics would be great

Too many scoots..... 12 or so I think .
Re: Smashed up front end
Having trouble uploading pics on here but just spoke to dealer and they said 2500 in damages... totalled. Good news is I will be on the road sooner with getting a check and buying a new bike and not have to wait for them to order parts to fix current one...

Re: Smashed up front end
I bought my 2013 PCX from a local couple who had over $2000 in damages per the estimate from hitting a culvert and laying it over.
Bought it sight unseen in hopes of using the drivetrain for a swap.
When I went to pick it up I couldn't believe my eyes. SCORE!
Only had to bend metal structure that the right footboard mounts into place and replace 2 plastic bits on the body.
Fixed it for less than $300 and most of that was a new front tire and wheel.

Could be an opportunity to put on a taller windscreen?

Skuuter has a 2013 PCX for sale. look under for sale in this forum. might want to talk to him, Leethal88. would be a good time to visit the Smokies in Tennessee...

Re: Smashed up front end
Yeah I should find out tomorrow what the scoop is. If it's totaled I hope the turn around time on the check is quick so I can snatch up a new one I'd get exactly the same as before in red. Any idea how quick Geico is in turning around checks on totaled vehicles?
Re: Smashed up front end
Tennessee is a long long way away from me here in NH and a long ride back on that thing!!! Haha

Insurance Co's are always quick to settle if you're in a rental car that they are paying for, but that's probably not the case here.Leethal88 wrote:Yeah I should find out tomorrow what the scoop is. Re: Smashed up front end
I would have never thought it would be totaled. You must have been traveling faster than I thought. Hopefully you will get settled quickly and be riding soon.
