I'm not sure if my center stand tends to fall down or not but a few times i've noticed the stand hitting the road as I take a sharp corner
Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Re: Cornering center stand issue
I ride behind my wife on my Burgman, and I worry about her PCX center stand hitting the road when she corners. If you were able to view your scooter from the rear with someone on it you would notice that it sits very close to the ground. There are quite a few comments on this forum about their scooter's center stand hitting the ground if they take a turn at too much of an angle. Many report their center stand wearing in certain places due to this. I have even hit the center stand on my Burgman on occasions. I think it is a problem all bikes with center stands have. It doesn't mean you can't take corners with them. Just be aware of the pavement when you want to turn a corner. Sometimes there are so many layers of asphalt that there is a hump in the center of the road. This 'hump' could catch your center stand if you turn too sharply. It is just something you learn to be aware of.

Thanks for that Mel, i'll probably take it easier in future instead of trying to be Valentino Rossi
Re: Cornering center stand issue
Also if you are turning from a level road onto an uphill road it will strike much more easily. The uphill road effectively increases the lean angle causing the center stand to drag. I've been surprised a couple times by this.

Check that you haven't contracted broken crankcase syndrome...

yeah, you cant lean the PCX over like a knee dragger sports bike with the center stand on. take it off if you want to push the limits of lean.

I've grinded a fair bit off the center stand foot edges on both sides of the scooter. I've got to watch how far I lean. It's so light and nimble though!
