Throttle stuttering
I got my PCX 150 about six months ago, and I did the initial oil change myself. Its at around 850 miles on it and last night I noticed a burning smell (maybe a rubber) although I had dismissed it as another vehicle. Now I know its my bike. I just put some oil it in (also last night), 10-30, and the throttle is very jittery. It feels like it does when the limiter hits, and sometimes rumbles a bit. This is at around 20mph and continues until I hit around 45mph. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Sounds like an issue in your drive components. It's possible your belt is going.
If you're mechanically inclined, open up the drive cover on the left side of the bike below the airbox and make sure everything looks good there. If it smells like burning rubber, it's likely an issue with the belt.

At work at the moment, but ill take a look at that tonight. Could overfilling the oil be contributing to the problem? It was a bit over the max line when I topped it off last night.

I would open the air box to see if there was any oil in it. Never overfill an engine. The dipstick has a "fill range" on it. Your oil level should be in that range. You said you did the first oil change yourself. Is your pcx using oil?

Yes, it is. It was barely at the minimum when I checked it last night, so I put some more in - maybe a 1/4" past the fill range. (Had to do it in a dimly lit parking lot, but it was around that much)

Remember that you don't screw the dipstick in to check it and you should not fill it past the middle of the fill range.
So long as there's oil on the dipstick there's no need to top it up.
I checked mine twice in 18,000 miles.
The first time I tried using the dipstick I gave up in frustration, the second time was when I changed the oil at 15,000 miles.
Just ride it and stop fretting.

That can cause the engine to choke. I'd drain some. It wouldn't smell like rubber though...kmccra wrote:Yes, it is.
