I know that performance exhaust cannisters (mufflers) are available for the PCX; however, is there a "kit" available
that has matched components, with the ability to retune the motor for maximum effect (in other words, a
Stage 1 type performance kit which improves engine efficiency and power).....including:
- Exhaust cannister or complete exhaust system
- High performance computer chip for fuel injection / ignitiion system
- Low restriction air intake sytem that is also weather proof
I'm not looking for a higher top speed.....just more grunt when going up steep hills, passing, etc.
Thanks
Johnny

Re: Stage 1 performance packagef
Welcome,
I would try just sliders first and see if that is enough for you.(they help with "grunt" and "hills").
There are also variator "kits" out there...
Stage 1 kits, not that I know of...
Stock ecu seems to be all you need for "stage 1 mods".
Pod filter and straight thru muffler help, but are loud.
I've done all these mods and they work, but I've quieted down the exhaust(and power), because it was just too loud.
Still waiting on a big-bore kit available in the US.

Hi jblye, welcome aboard. Sorry I can't help ya but....
In case you didn't spot it, there's a "technical" board on the forum. You'd probably get more viewers/&/faster help had you posted there.
(I'm betting that Dave will move this over....so pack up your stuff
)
As always, dass is helpful
Cheers

Re: Stage 1 performance packagef
Performance pipes = plenty of choice on the net.
Airfilters = performance replacement (eg K&N) are common or "cone" type plus other mods to remove some parts of airbox (you can reasearch in the board).
Chip = Stock ECU is adequate for the above works. Not aware of any power commander or similar for PCX.
In addition to the common or garden pipe, filter and ECU there is lots of info on here about replacement and modification to variators and slider/roller weights which can have an effect on performance.
Then there are big-bore kits, and to be honest you can do pretty much whatever changes you like to the bike with enough time, patience and money
Haven't seen a supercharger yet but I'm sure there's one out there!
It's a 150 scooter built for economy at the end of the day

Re: Stage 1 performance packagef
I didn't see anything for the PCX on the Yuminashi website.
I'll probably wait until I get some miles on my PCX150 before deciding
whether to leave it stock. Three of my last four motorcycles were
Stage 1 kitted; however, I might just decide to leave well enough
alone. The PCX will be mostly a grocery-getter, etc. I doubt that
I will be racing anyone to Walmart.
Thanks for the comments
