replacement seat seal
I have a after market seat from Thailand but I did not order the seal to go with it, I thought the factory Honda one would work, but it doesn't . Is the seal for this seat worth buying ? does it work? or is there a better way to seal up the seat?

Re: replacement seat seal
It only took me a minute to pull my original seal off and put it on the new seat. It should fit. If there is an open area make sure it is at the hinge. You can use caulk in the small amount of opening not covered.

Re: replacement seat seal
my factory Honda seat had a groove that the seal fit into. My replacement seat does not. I put the factory seal on the seat with some new 2 way tape, but when I close it the seal rolls out of place.

Re: replacement seat seal
You may not be able to get a seal for the aftermarket seat. The moldings are set to either accept a foam seal strip or not to. What shop did you order it from?

Re: replacement seat seal
got it to fit, had trim some of the seat material away. My try a different seal material , like foam. What I am experiencing is that when I close the seat with the Honda one, it rolls out to the side because there is nothing to hold it in place. As for the seat ,I got it from biker bitz. it is the same seat base shown in the pictures, it had the same number as the same seat from powerbypcx. Thanks for the help, I will get it figured out.

Re: replacement seat seal
Make sure your seat is aligned correctly before trying to close it or that will happen. I believe there is a thread on this forum about how to make sure it is aligned. With ours now we only have to apply a little pressure and it locks. We use to slam it or hit the seat hard to make it latch. A correctly aligned one should be easy to close with a bit of pressure in the center of the seat above the latch.

Mel, I assume it was the latch that you adjusted?
