Grocery Shopping!

Hm, here is an idea I just came up with to help with groceries. Don't know if it can be done or not, but Thule has a child carrier that's designed to be hooked to a bicycle. Could there be a way to connect it to a PCX to carry groceries?

Or better still stick the baby in it when its screaming its head off and go for a spin!

In my opinion, this is a very bad idea. The tire on that carrier would wear off, even if you COULD get it on your scooter and go at very low speeds. If you really need to carry a lot of groceries, you could get the following:

Tank Bag
Saddle Bags
Seat Bag
Luggage Rack
Top Case

There are some cheaper saddle bags that work well, and they can even have a matching seat bag. If you don't like the idea of a top case, you could get a very durable duffle bag and tie it to your seat and/or luggage rack. I do know people who have the top cases also tie down a back pack in front of it, and you can even tie down other stuff to that back pack.

All of these bags will carry quite a bit of groceries. If you have a bicycle, you can get a Burley Travoy, bungie a plastic hamper to it, and there you go. If you live close to a store, the Travoy can also be used off of a bicycle to lug around groceries. It has a 60 lb weight limit, and folds for storage. I think you'll get quite a bit with your scoot, though.

If I were you I would consider a Givi tailbox and some soft side cases. I have seen pictures of some that someone has on this forum. You drape them across the PCX and close the seat to keep them in place. They looked pretty big, and the tailbox holds a lot too, so I think you would have enough storage to carry all of your groceries.

I'd be concerned about bearings... That cart isn't designed to go that kind of speed, and would probably wobble erratically.

her in the USA, it is very common to purchase 1-2 weeks of supplies per trip to the grocer. If he has a passenger to assist in the shopping, it would easily be over the skuder storage capacity.

I have one of those carriers for use with my bicycle. I would never, ever, ever consider hooking it up to a scooter...not a chance. It's simply not stable enough.
