There have been similar 3 wheelers from Piaggio, Gilera, Peugeot and Quadro.
The 3 wheel format is hugely popular in France.

I saw one Friday evening in BKK ... not sure it would be real practical for BKK inner city driving. I assume that they are still able to lean, or do they ride completely upright at 90 degrees to the road surface?

Saw a Piaggio 500 in a parking lot, the other night. It was a funny looking duck. I assumed that it didn't lean, but looking at the pix on their website, it appears they do. It's still a funny duck. I would imagine that in CA you would not need an M1 or M2 license.

The advantage in the UK is that you can ride them on a full car driving licence (no CBT needed), they are very stable and I believe you can take them on the motorway - which you cannot do on a CBT and not having passed 'the full licence' which costs anywhere up to and around £600 and needs to be taken on a 350cc minimum (hence usually no scooter but manual bike skills as most training centres do not have large CC scooters).

I took my UK bike test age 18, in 1978 on a Suzuki GT250 (with L plates)....
There were no sit down tests in those days...
Anyway it was drizzling and the driving examiner stood in the doorway of the test centre and told me to drive "round the block" several times....
10 mins later, He then showed me a couple of road signs in a book and asked me what they meant...and voila - he handed me my pass certificate...
and, on my kids life, i rode straight up to Cradley Heath Kawasaki centre, with the ink still wet on the pass certificate and took their Z1000 demo out for a test ride, taking it down the M5 at 130 odd MPH, ....
oh happy days.....

I like it
tempting. I'd test ride it. Reminds me of my Piaggio MP3 250. Mine was a heavy beast just under 500 lbs. the Tricity 125 claims 330 lbs. Nice difference. I wonder how high the seat will be? MP3 was wide and high (about 31-32?). Smooth ride on the MP3. This Tricity just might be a winner
