She started by riding on my bicycle with me on a rack, strapped in. Next, she rode in a backpack on the bike, shortly thereafter riding on a Givi tunnel bag between my legs. You can see her basic riding procedure at the beginning of this video:

Yes, I did -- it was too long to fit where I wanted to put it in the garage, so I removed it. I'm still unsure about that decision, the functionality of a topcase is something I often can't live without. I consider removing them motivation for me to try to get some hard saddlebags made.
