IN the US owners manual it says when the fuel gauge is on E you still have .94 gallons of fuel left. Has anyone confirmed this is true?

Not to the exact point, but yes I've verified it to be at about .9 at the top of the red.

My honda sh 150i is the same ,when in the red area too almost empty I can ride 60 kilometers ! When the gauge hits the red area it's time to look for gas I have seen this in some honda car owners manuals

Gassed up for the first time today as needle was sitting below E. It took 2.16 gallons to fill it though it's really hard to tell how full it is because of the angle. I drove 151 miles for about 70.3 per gallon. About 60 or so was with the new Givi Windshield and 30 or so with my daughter riding on the back. So pretty good mileage. But I'm interested to see what I get on the next fill-up with the windshield.

Filled up again today and averaged about 73 mpg which is pretty good for all city driving.

My biggest complaint is knowing when to stop as it's hard to tell how full it is getting and the pump won't cutoff so it can overflow.

Cheaper than the Mccuff is putting the scooter on the center stand whenever you have to fill up. You will be able to see the fuel level easily.

I use the center stand/view and fill to the cross bar. But many use different methods. I've seen some use pvc pipe to use like the Mccuff.
There isn't that much difference on the side stand if the ground is level.

I do have it on the Center stand and still have a hard time seeing when it's full. Maybe it's because I wear a full faced helmet. :-)

No, I haven't tried it. I knew about it because of the guys on the VTX forum. Some were complaining about the fuel dripping on our VTX1300's and this was tested by one then of course several followed. To me, no problem to solve on the VTX or on this skut. Even filling from the side, some of the Burgman riders use the cheaper version of a short pvc pipe for the same function.

Yep I probably need to stop being lazy, take a couple of minutes and take off my helmet so I can see better. Or maybe put a small flashlight on my key chain to shine in to see the gas level.

The only reson uk petrol stations want you to take your helmet off is so they can get your face on the cctv.
