Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
Has my attention.
gn2 likes this scoot. I can see why. The longer bodied
Sprint 150 equipped with ABS, 12" wheels front and rear, battery moved from under seat to provide more storage space, 31.1" high seat & comfort improved, LED lighting, body color choices look lovely, top speed 59 (maybe more), weighing 267 lbs (is that right?) 2yr. Warranty and 1 yr. Roadside Assistance. More to it, but can't remember it all.
Oh yeah, the Price $5,099
I called a Vespa dealer in my area today. He didn't know that it arrived in the U.S. yet. I told him Dallas Texas took delivery 1st week of this month. He was surprised and didn't know offhand when he would have one.
Waiting continues. (Pic to follow soon).

More here http://www.vespausa.com/scooters/sprint/studio.html
Here are most of the colors offered:
Note the Sprint can be had in a 150 or 50cc (U.S.) Not sure, but I "think" it's a 125 across the pond(?)

Its a much better scooter than a PCX.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

I know this is a strange question, but how big is the frame tubing on it vs. the PCX?? It looks like it is 3/4 the size of the PCX.
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150
Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

It is a steel monocoque.

"Monocoque" A metal structure, such as an aircraft, in which the skin absorbs all or most of the stresses to which the body is subjected. Cool gn2!

Gn2, that's like saying we should buy a works Mini Cooper or a a argh fiat 500 because they are better built than our Ford Mustang! Completely different bikes.
Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
Its better (imo) because it has longer service intervals and ABS.

Smaller wheels ... less stable?gn2 wrote:Its better (imo) because it has longer service intervals and ABS.
The main advantage in Belgium is the fact that there is just one "all brand" scooter club in Belgium (the whole country) ... while there are more than a dozen vespa-clubs. The fact that I had to buy a commuter and that I could get two PCX'es for the price of one Vespa ...
Ben.
A Belgian beer please, I don't like water, that's the shit that rusts my PCX!

It would like buying a gentleman's handbag. Probably useful and practical but you would look like Mr Gay UK.

Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
Depends on a number of other factors.Ben Lee wrote:Smaller wheels ... less stable?
True the Vespa Sprint has a higher purchase price, but you get more for your money and the running costs are lower.

Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
Also, (sounds ridiculous, but) do Vespa's easily rust?
I keep envisioning myself down on blended knee
with hose sprayer in hand cleaning the underside of fenders (and the like).
It's strikes me odd that many Vespa's are seen in NYC but not on the Island! You would think it should be the other way around? Ah, maybe not. City folk bounce block to block. A car, taxi, bus, would be their alternative and costly at that. Well, I figured that one out by just asking you
Crazy I Am!!

Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
$5100 for a 150cc? For $1000 more you could have a GTS300.
Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
Like why is the Forza more stable than the PCX when the Forza has a 13" rim on the rear and the PCX has a 14" rim on the rear.WhiteNoise wrote:gn2, (I really want to know) could you please expound on this: "Depends on a number of other factors."

If you have a think about that I'm sure you'll be able to work it out.

Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
It's the wider rubber. I'm sorry how are Vespas and piaggios cheaper to maintain than a pcx? Parts are much more expensive for the Italians. The pcx is cheap to maintain. You just need to turn a screwdriver and a wrench and it's apart for a valve adjustment in half an hour.

Re: Vespa Sprint Arrives in U.S.
Sure it looks like a nice scoot but I'll stick with my cheaper and more economical pcx 150
