Pizza Delivery PCX 150
I want to build a Pizza Delivery on the back of my PCX150. Any DIY videos out there on this or on something similar?

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
The pizza delivery services I am familiar with have a warming case they put the pizza in for the delivery person so that the pizza will stay warm. Get a Honda tailbox rack. Then get something that the warming container can ride in and you will be set. Even a duffel bag will do the job if it is waterproof.

Yes! Those were exactly what I was trying to describe, Whitenoise! With those 3 things (straps, rack and pizza case) he can work for just about any pizza delivery service.

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
Is there a rack big enough for a pizza case? Most of the racks seem to be small on the back of the scooter. I also prefer not to make any holes in the scooter.
Thanks for your guys help.

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
The part that you would have to put holes in has outlines on the underside just for the purpose of placing holes to attach the tailrack to the body of the scooter. The drilling process would take all of 10 minutes . There are predrilled screw holes in the frame for the rack and the rack comes with bolts just for those holes. To replace the piece that you drilled holes in would cost you just $18. The tailrack adds 11" to the overall length of the bike. From the rack a platform box can be custom built to go forward or backward on it, though going forward would mean that you would have to take off the platform box when opening the under seat area. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Hmm... Going back in time to a previous thread you started: http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1867
I'm curious butch3r, did you ever solve your problem with fumes while riding in LA? My guess is you did because now you're considering delivering pizza(s) via PCX
Would like to hear your "how not to breathe" bad fumes while riding. Some here may benefit, thanks.
More Pizza delivery ideas? Hmm,
Use an automobile with windows closed, a/c with recirculate "on," and pizza in said carrier bag posted above. Sorry, other than that, I'm fresh out of fixin's

Wouldn't the toppings and cheese slide all over the place if pizza is carried on the back of the PCX--especially on LA roads?? The scooter has a bouncy ride even on relatively good streets.
2013 PCX 150 [now an ex-bike, soon to be consigned to the bottom line of the sig]

Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
Here are some pics of how they do it in Bangkok, Thailand. The boxes are simply strapped to the bike with a bungie chord.
I also posted a couple of pics of Jim's setup (Steph's husband). I saw a picture somewhere on here where it showed that the box appeared to be a square cube (like a milk crate) from the local hardware store and he has put the vinyl cover over it. If you got something like that set up, you could possibly put the insulated pizza bag in it.

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
great pics. that's more what I'm looking to do.
yeah. this could be a problem. I don't plan on making sharp turns or fast turns and I'd like to go over those bumps more slowly. I'll have to find some balance between riding fast but not too fast.Bash On! wrote:Wouldn't the toppings and cheese slide all over the place if pizza is carried on the back of the PCX--especially on LA roads?? Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
As long as you put the pizzas in the box horizontally and not vertically, it won't be a problem.

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
@ - kramnala58 Love that you included Johnk's home made box. He made a fabric cover for a milk crate.
@ - butch3r Wish I could tell how many liters. It came with the scoot and no literature on it. It's not big enough to put a large pizza in it. if I have nothing else in it, I can put a full face helmet in it. It's really not that big.

Re: Pizza Delivery PCX 150
It wouldn't take much to build a box that could handle pizzas plus the warming cover. You could also add some padding to absorb bumps. As an example of what you could use to build the crate, Home Depot has Plexiglas squares, and there is plywood also. I am sure they could give you many ideas. First though you will need to know how wide and tall you wanted it. Include extra space to allow for easy insert and extraction of the pizzas. You could build shelves or you could depend on the pizza boxes themselves. The choice would be yours, but the container could be built without a lot of effort...just patience.
