scooter slow at start, is my belt on clutch not high enough?

after a 200 mile trip the scooter started going slow from takeoff till 20 mph , and i just notice this and i am pretty sure the belt is suppose to be at the very top of the clutch , if yes , how can i fix why the clutch variation isn't closing up all the way to make the belt sit at the top , thanks

on a side note i just took off the variator and clutch , and the clutch is not stuck it springs closed as soon as i took the belt out , so something else is causing the belt to cause tension for it not to float up all the way on the clutch?
the only thing i found was a lot of dust under the sliders in the variator

nope cuz it happened a few thousand miles latter , well anyway i think i found the problem , there was a lot of dust under the sliders i guess causing them not to sit right making the variator open some , unfortunately someone was bothering me wile putting all back together and i forgot to put the clutch bell back on and started it up , so now i need a new clutch and airbox

Sorry i had to do it. Look we all make mistakes, now you know not to do that again. I remember once i forgot to tighten the nut that goes on the shaft, that the clutch bell rides on, and freaking lost it down the road when testing the bike out. This is when i had my zuma. Damn Yamaha had none of the nuts in stock, and to top it off they wouldn't get that part for another MONTH... LOL! Luckly magic mike came through with one off of an old Vino motor.
