Andrew Charnley

Post by fish »

Been trying to read the posts about Charnley's PCX adventure since stumbling upon a post re. his trip.
So, how far did he get on the PCX, and do we know what broke to end this adventure on his scooter?

He wrote a book. Search his name on amazon. It all went wrong in India so he switched to a bicycle.

That would be the $11answer....could I get, say, $2 worth of regular?
I checked my library, they don't have it.

Wasn't wanting to spoil it for everyone but here goes.

He got as far as India before the engine blew up. The honda dealer there said it was to do with the poor Indian fuel but the bike was drowned twice crossing rivers so probably what happened was water in the bores may have bent the con rod slightly causing the failure. Well that's my theory anyway.
He the got the first of multiple pedal bikes and got a far a Malaysia if I remember correctly before getting a job there.
It's worth reading actually with a few strange happenings. I won't be camping at a certain guys house in Thailand. He woke up with his shorts down and the guy sooking his pork sausage! ;(
