Folding Backpack

For those who might have an interest in a foldable backpack which
could be useful in certain situations:
I know that top boxes are good from a functional standpoint. I've
never much cared for the looks of them.....particularly the way they
stick out and up. I might end up getting one anyway, but I decided
to try a foldable backpack first. Here's one that caught my eye, and
the price is right. If it turns out to be impractical, I won't have wasted
a lot of money. This one holds 22 liters, and it can be folded up into
its own zippered pocket. Even if I end up getting a top box later,
this backpack could be a useful accessory to carry under the seat for
those special situations (e.g., if you find a large bag of drug money left
on the side of the road). Well, you never know !!! I don't plan to be
hauling huge loads of stuff, so I might not even need a top box for my
PCX150.

I ordered the blue one (for visibility) today. This model is apparently
the improved,updated version of a previous model.

Ooops !!

It actually holds 25 liters. The original version held 22 liters.

Most of my trips wearing the backpack would be less than 10 miles,
so I don't think wearing it fully loaded for such short distances
would be a problem, and the PCX150 might handle better as
opposed to carrying a heavy load of stuff in a top box with its
tail (box) so far upward and rearward.

Won't know for sure until I try it, so I'll let you know how it works
out.

Good deal! Backpacks of any kind for less than $20 are hard to find.

It ought to hold your lunch for work, a change of clothes for an over night trip, etc.

I received the Hikpro backpack today, and it seems to be well worth
the money. It appears to be large enough to hold any "overflow"
grocery items that I can't get under the seat. Four zippered pockets plus two
bottle holder mesh pockets. I don't expect to have a need to carry
really large items in it or under the seat; instead, I'll buy all of the large,
bulky items at the same time when I go to WalMart, Lowe's, etc. in my car.
All of the other "normal" size items should fit under the PCX seat or in the
backpack when I use my scooter for shopping.

I'll let you know if the backpack has any glaring problems/defects in actual use.

Also: I'll be looking for a collapsible/removeable trunk type soft box that
could be used on the seat behind the rider. I know that a lot of those are
available, but I would want to get one that won't damage the PCX seat or body
panels. I already have a tank bag that I used on my Ducati, so I might be
able to make that work as a seat bag.

I used the Hikpro backpack the first time today. Without it, I would have had
one badly squashed loaf of bread. I was able to get everything else under
the seat, but there was no room for the bread (without crushing it).
The backpack worked perfectly for this minor task. So far, so good.
I hardly noticed the backpack while I was using it, and the wind flow didn't
cause it to move around, despite its light load.

So far, I'm glad I bought it. You just never know when it might come in handy.
And the price was right.

Actually, I got my blue Hikpro backpack from Amazon.com / Beauty of Micro
for $ 15.99, with free shipping. Funny thing about Amazon: You can sometimes
find a given item in different departments at different prices, some with free
shipping, some not. I had to buy $35 worth of "free shipping" merchandise
to get free shipping on the backpack. No problem, as I needed to buy several
bicycle supplies (which also featured "free shipping") from Amazon anyway.

I suspect that the same company makes this backpack (possibly with minor
differences) and sells them under different brand names. Just a guess.
I've seen a couple of other brands that look very much like the Hikpro
backpack that I bought, and all of them can be folded up and placed in their
own zippered pocket. The folded backpack is not much larger than a
sandwich.

Anyhow, the total price I paid was $ 15.99.

constructive, informative, straightforward, supportive if possible, and respectful even when I
don't agree with the person who posted. I hope that this is the right approach. It appears that
99 % of the people who routinely post on this forum use that approach......after all, we are a
community of scooter fans. That's why I think that it is important to stick to the topic at
hand. Just my opinion......

Perhaps you need to start a thread which features off-hand thoughts
such as those. My point was that such comments are off-topic and tend to
detract from the current topic; as such, they don't add much value
or focus on the current topic (whether the topic was initiated by me
or anyone else, for that matter). When such remarks are made, a lot
of readers are probably asking "What does that have to do with what
we were talking about ? ", and in many cases they probably don't
know what your are talking about or why you chose to say it.

No hard feelings, though. Just an observation.

You can find similar bags on the internet (generally for about he

As for my 2015 PCX150, I already posted those on another thread (the one
about people who had switched from motorcycles to scooters)

I got the blue backpack. It looks nice and probably is more visible
to following motorists than the black backpack.

Pretty neat idea, Sowaka. Don't know if you could fold it up when not in use,
though. Reflective material would be really nice for night riding, I guess.

Seriously, I think they're onto something good! Cool looking, but I don't know if the fabric itself will be cool. Big bucks, though.

BTW, Johnny I tried to grab the picture from your backpack link in the blue color, I failed. Maybe you can take a pic of yours on your scoot, or inside your seat box. A lot of us like pics (homie too).
