Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
I just discovered an auto/motorcycle upholsterer near by and he has done some amazing things with motorcycle seats including having fixed some 2013 PCX humps (grinds the nubs off). It will run about $130 but I can customize everything including the padding (he showed me some re-padded seats one before and after - what a difference and he is an artist with custom designs). He said it will take less than a day (2 hours labor) and if I don't like what I picked he will fix it. He had just padded up a Grom seat. They are even harder than the PCX seats. I found him through my local body shop that uses him.
Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
Since he is so fast and it is going to rain here for 3-4 days I am bringing the seat to him tomorrow. My only concern has been by buying another seat I can always return the bike to stock with the old parts but I can always pick up an OEM seat if need be. (but who would want to)

Cool SECoda, I'm anxious to see your saddle that he'll be creating
Are you leaving it up to him to create? Besides the comfort factor, this is a great opportunity to add something unique that interests you. Get artsy. I went and googled motorcycle custom seat photos and saw this one and many others. This particular one bites!

Yes, IMO that one is particularly ugly ... unless it is being set out as a Halloween ornament.WhiteNoise wrote:I went and googled motorcycle custom seat photos and saw this one and many others. This particular one bites!

Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
Went for a cruise yesterday, 380km on a mixture of highway and country roads. My Air Hawk "diaper" seat performed flawless. I spent about 5hrs in the saddle with few breaks. I had happy cheeks! No pain

We had a power outage - up and down from storms so i never made it to the upholsterer yet. I keep thinking i should leave the original seat intact.
Five hours is tough on many motorcycle seats. The AH's seem to be very comfortable.

Thanks! Just for laughs, here is a picture I took on my first trip last summer. I had just got the bike. 450km day trip with an improvised seat! It worked for the first 300 or so.....

You are determined to build a better seat, necessity is the mother of invention. If these PCX's ever become main stream in the US we will see an end to the uncomfortable scooter seat. Americans don't have boney little butts and we typically get what we want.
Please don't let anything get loose and wrap up in the rear wheel or you're in for an abrupt stop. I will swap any stateside their red 2015 PCX seat for my black one LOL but I know there aren't any 2015 color schemes like that here. I'm still after this look...

That is a super nice color scheme! I like the wheels white! Hm... Perhaps a winter project and paint them. That exhaust is cool too.
Thanks for your caution. I was very careful that nothing could get caught before embarking on my trip.

Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
Well it turns out that I know someone that works at Roho, Inc. across the river from me and Roho sells Air Hawk. I'll find out on Monday if I can get one on the cheap - really cheap. I decided that black on a black seat may hardly be noticeable on mine. They are the Cadillac of motorcycle cushions but it is less expensive to buy a new seat or re-upholster than to buy the Air Hawk.

Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
SECoda, a sugestion, check that it has a warranty to test it. Mine had a 60 day warranty to return it if it failed the comfort test. That was why I bought it, figured I could not loose, just learn by trying. The product warranty is excellent too. Good luck!

I don't know if they will give me a warranty on a free sample/demo unit.

Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
I guess if the price is right its worth trying. My seat was 198.00 and I only paid that because of the warranty. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Re: Good News Bad News on Deliveries
The reviews are excellent on them. They are kind of the standard. There were five different ones they compared in one review I saw but the Air Hawk was unrivaled as the best.
