My encounter of the day:
The turn signal tells all. I looked in the mirror, did the head check, and when my head turned back to the road in front of me, a dumbass was running in the middle of my lane. I would've thought in the age of texting & driving, jaywalkers would have at least wised up enough to at least predict whether or not they can get their butt off the lane before oncoming vehicles use their legs as speed bumps.
Have you had a close encounter with stupid?

Oh hardly, but you really don't appreciate it until you're slamming on the brakes for one. It's also easy(when you're the one jaywalking) to lose sight of the fact that a vehicle can legitimately not see you on a straight road.you you wrote:Hardly the most shocking thing I've seen

I met an older woman coming down the wrong way on the exit ramp of a highway. She could not figure out how to turn around in three lanes.

Ah yes, I remember seeing an old asian woman making a turn in the wrong direction of a one-way street and only figured out what the problem was when the entire lane of cars facing in her direction was beeping at her for about 10 seconds.SECoda wrote:I met an older woman coming down the wrong way on the exit ramp of a highway. Re: Have you had a close encounter with stupid?
I have seen dumb people here walk right into traffic like they own the place. No looking. No heads up to the drivers. But if they get hit, they yell 'discrimination!' if the cop gives them a ticket for jaywalking or crossing in a no crossing zone, or some other ticket. What does discrimination have to do with being stupid!? Still, that is the word of the day down South. I watched a news report recently in which a woman with two kids tried to run across the freeway. One of her kids got hit and died at the scene. The last I heard, she was sueing the driver, and complaining that the news coverage discriminated against her because she was African-American! She also complained that there were no signs where she crossed that said she couldnt cross there. What??? If you are stupid, you are stupid. It doesn't matter what nationality you are. How did she even get where she was when she attempted to cross the freeway??

Anything you can't do is discrimination now
I could bring a chicken on a bus and probably find a lawyer to take my case... unless you are white man then its just tough luck.
