Castelli Winter riding gloves

I bought a pair of these Castelli winter bicycling gloves for $30:

I started wearing them last spring when the temps in the morning would dip down around 30 degrees F. These gloves are amazing. The material on the back of the gloves is stretchy and breathable yet kept my hands warm all riding season in Wisconsin. The material on the palms of the glove is suede with a grippy pattern "painted" on it, as shown here:


I even continued to wear these when the weather warmed up. They are thin enough to use as liners in heavier gloves too.

I used to ride everyday in drizzly England and in winter it could be well below freezing. Fingerless canvas overmits worked for me, just slip over your normal thinsulate leather gloves. Keeps the water and wind off. Be tricky for txting though. Ive still got the overmits after 35 years though dont need them where I now live

I have 3 places I get most of my gear from, and each has its advantages. Compare their prices and you will be pleased. How cold were these good down to? I've been looking for some good winter gloves.

These kept me warm on my 20 minute commute down to 30-35 degrees F.

I have similar gloves from Performance and Voler that I sometimes use on my scoot/mowersickle. In fact, I often use some of my cycling gear when I go motorized. Granted, you're not gonna get the protection of a full leather glove that you'll need in a much higher velocity get-off on a motorbike.

You can never skimp out on your gloves... Those are the most important thing to protect you with when you fall or eat it. I like having gauntlet gloves just for the added protection.. Kinda like some of the options you see here http://www.motorcyclehouse.com/motorcyc ... or-men.htm , it adds armor.

I've just got a pair of goretex alpinestars for winter bit pricey thou but keeps my hands warm and dry

The Icon Patrol is cheap but good. It's not insulated much but would be great with a Venture Heat 12v glove liner.

Riding a scooter is less demanding that a bike that you have to shift so you can actually get by with good control even while using cheap skiing gloves or mittens which will be the warmest option without having to resort to 12v heated gear.

Coldest ride last year was 1 degree Fahrenheit.
Been known to stop & warm my hands up...

When I get home I give the scoot a rinse and dry it off....

If the roads are mostly clear of ice and snow I get up and ride my scooter.....every day for the past 20 months. Every single day. Figure to catch up on my sleep when I get old (er).

PS: No, never was a big fan of wind screens. My full face modular (for my glasses) helmet works good enough.

I have two different pairs of gloves because there are really only two seasons in the South. I have a good pair of everyday riding gloves that have knuckle protection, and a winter pair that is the gauntlet type.

Today we went for a ride and i wore my new Tourmaster jacket, which should work for all seasons for me except the hottest days of summer. My wife took a picture and said about me,"Can you see me now??!" Meaning that you would have to be blind to miss me now. :-)

yea took a few minutes to google up and resize, then paint program to line up characters... sadly many of us can relate
Getting an image in the sig is a little tricky. Maddie does not give us personal photo albums so the image has to be posted to the forum normally and it will need to forever reside in your list of 'manage images' within your profile to be seen.
