You guys are killing me! I have to do some shopping to keep up. LOL. Actually I need to get my Hubby in on this He's a PCP gun guy too.
Nice guns you got there!

Re: How cold will you ride?
13% off right now plus I have some Bonus Bucks there. I WANT a Legends All-Metal L08 Luger replica. They are only $119 so I can get it for about $90. They look and work like a Luger almost exactly (if you are in to old guns).
I bought my Air Arms S510C .22 w/ walnut thumbhole stock at Pyramyd.

Rode to work today at 25f temp in the same gear I ride in 100f temp. Don't yet own any cold weather gear. 70 mph in 25f temps is damn cold! Definitely need to buy some lined gloves and find the liner that came with my jacket. Looks like it's going to be a long winter.

I thought Texas was a warm place?
Re: How cold will you ride?
It was two days ago. Good news is it doesn't stay this cold for long. Just have to suffer for about 20 days in an average Winter. Snow or freezing precipitation is rare here. We'll have temps in the 70s or 80s before too long.

Re: How cold will you ride?
Getting cold and very wet here in south england now. I've started wearing a balaclava and swapped to cheap gloves (not armoured but reported as warm) and the past two weeks my fingers have not felt frozen and painful as they had been when riding to work early hours of the morning, and I've been ok so far. It will drop a few more degree's yet, but the £7.50 textile gloves off ebay are far warmer than the RST soft-armoured leather gloves I'd been wearing.

Re: How cold will you ride?
A good pair of mitts is way warmer than any glove. And the ease of no shifting that a scooter provides makes using mitts comfortable.

Re: How cold will you ride?
It's a BIG state - quite a difference from the north to the south. Four days ago, we were riding in shirt sleeves; with this cold system that is whooping up on most of the country, our daytime highs were only in the 40s here in the Tropical Tip of Texas. Average high this time of year is the upper 70s. Average daytime high in January is 70º. You can ride year 'round here, but the roads are less than interesting: flat terrain and mostly straight roads. Throw in the crazy-ass drivers, and you'll understand why riding here is less about the temp and more about the other conditions (rain, wind, or tourist crowds). We haul our scoots out of here during much of the year... but not because of the cold.Steph wrote:I thought Texas was a warm place?

Re: How cold will you ride?
My sister is in Houston. The weather can be quite changeable. Warm one day and cold the next. I suppose it depends on you definition of cold though.Steph wrote:I thought Texas was a warm place?
