Valve adjustment - Assembly

Post by hytron »

Hi everyone,

I found on this site a very nice and useful info on how to check the valve clearance on Honda PCX, but nowhere instruction on how to assemble it back. Can anyone provide me with info on torq specs on bolts such as radiator assembly and valve cover.

Thanks!!!

You should buy a service manual...
those size bolts are usually about 7 ft lbs though.

I got my service manual for $30 from manual wizard at sell.com, but found out it is an illegal copy :? :x :( , although it covers everything I think I would have paid more for the real thing :|

Thank you for your post! I would like to purchase service manual for my scooter but helminc.com does not have it in stock. I called the local dealer where I purchased the scooter and they are out of stock and have no idea when they will get them. The price seems to be about $40. Does anyone happen to know where to get one?? I would prefer an electronic version. Anyone????

Thanks!!! :)

Isn't there an order info page in the Owners Manual?

I checked, and it only says:

When service is required, remember that your Honda dealer knows your scooter best. If you
have the required mechanical ‘‘know-how’’ and tools, your dealer can supply you with an
Official Honda Shop Manual
to help you perform many maintenance and repair tasks.

The dealer will only tell you to contact Helm publishing. (Or charge you a redonkulous fee to order one for you)

Yeah, I would have also paid more for a real official printer manual. But as you already know Helm publishing is out of stock and does not even say if or when they will be publishing any additional service manuals. :x

Therefore I ordered one from the manual wizard yesterday. As long as it has all the info and the pictures are legible I will be satisfied.

I'm not going to shed a tear if Helm publishing does not get my hard earned cash. 8) If they cannot even keep a current model cycle manual in stock, then maybe they have bigger issues to attend to.

P.S. And no, there is no PDF version available.

Oh and lastly, here is where you can buy the printed version:

I want to buy one eventually. Cheaper than 1/2 of labor to buy book yourself.
