Wrecked PCX
Anyone else got photos of their PCX after a fall or crash? any damages....
Here is my Bike from my crash 2 days ago,
mostly just fairings needing replacing, foot pegs got scraped, side stand was dented, left grip and brake lever wrecked, the whole plastic underneath the seat needs replacing as well, regarding the leaking, not sure where that came from as obv where the Car hit... the Carb and Petrol Tank is behind there.

Re: Wrecked PCX
Yes the seat ejection mechanism worked perfectly
I'm sorry this happened to you JoJo, good grief how is that fixable? You need a lot of panels and trim. Even the handlebars and most accessories, and where is your wrist band
Isn't she totaled? I don't like it! Its harder to look at then your slippers
Surely you're saddened but you are... alive
Look at the bright side someone will fess up to a crash and bump you down the survivors list with a header like this
"Anyone else got photos of their PCX after a fall or crash? any damages"

Re: Wrecked PCX
lol the ejector seat, classic!
''probably a safety mechanism''
and yeah, Slippers are amazing, cant put anything on my feet, well, my right foot due to the swelling, so open Slippers have to do,
even had to cut my Jeans off as I couldn't get them back over my swollen leg.
and i'm sure i've seen other photos on here of messed up PCX's :-/ unless it was another Forum, but thought i'd ask if anyone else has photos, doesn't have to be a crash, as i've dropped a Bike before and damaged it, so would be kool to see what other people have done to their PCX's and see if they're worse than mine

Here is a major crash survivor from 2012... I think there are plenty of images on some members computers in PCX forum but time and time again I hear people ask how to upload pictures and videojojo87 wrote: i'm sure i've seen other photos on here of messed up PCX's :-/ unless it was another Forum, but thought i'd ask if anyone else has photos, doesn't have to be a crash, as i've dropped a Bike before and damaged it, so would be kool to see what other people have done to their PCX's and see if they're worse than mine

Re: Wrecked PCX
It will be a while before it is put back together, if it isn't totalled. Panels are just one pain to have to replace. You also have to make sure that it still has good alignment, and hopefully the frame isn't bent.. Then make sure the front brake still works properly. Better let the insurance handle this one.

Re: Wrecked PCX
Yeah it's getting picked up tomorrow to be looked at and priced up and then fixed,
they'll also let me have another Scooter to use while mines getting fixed,
I said there isn't any point in me having one yet due to my pains,
so they said when i'm ready.... to ring them and they'll sort it out.

Wouldn't surprise me if they wrote that off.
Four decades on two wheels has taught me nothing, all advice given is guaranteed to be wrong

Re: Wrecked PCX
After i watched your video, i expected your scooter to look like a giant V. Bent in half.
Does anyone know if a crash like this would have been better or worse on a regular motorcycle as opposed to a scooter?

Re: Wrecked PCX
Mine did 1800 in damage and was valued at 2600 for some weird reason so didn't total. Anyways I sold it the other day after reskinning it in pearl white instead of red and sold it for $1500. Not bad. Gonna use that as a down payment for this

Re: Wrecked PCX
My dealer let me ride their CTX DCT. No windshield though. The trans is pretty cool. Low revving engine still gets 70 mpgUS.
.
The foot pegs are so far forward that many shorter women who want the bike instead of a Harley can't reach. HOw long before motorcycles become fully adjustable like bicycles have always been?

Sounds like a great insurance company - very rare esp. for third party. Who are the insurer's?jojo87 wrote:Yeah it's getting picked up tomorrow to be looked at and priced up and then fixed,

Re: Wrecked PCX
I'm with BikeSure,
they rang me back, told them everything, they got a company called BLD will ring me later that day to arrange a date to collect the Bike, they also got the Injury Solicitors to get in touch with me,
BLD rang me to arrange a time (for today) which is 3-5pm to collect the Bike to assess it etc....
also the Injury Solicitors rang and texted to say someone would be here Monday at 12pm to go over everything.
So yeah... doesn't seem bad so far, think it's due to the fact that I had the video footage and 2 witnesses and Police Incident numbers etc etc etc all ready to go.

Re: Wrecked PCX
That CTX is a beautiful bike. I would love to have one, but I am old, so I will play it safe with my PCX. My wife was upset when I bought the Burgman, so you know she would have a heart attack if I bought 700cc cruiser.

Re: Wrecked PCX
Maybe not all good,
BLD took the Bike,
got some paperwork.....
basically, they take it for about 6 weeks, assess it, if they think it isn't worth repairing then they'll write it off.....
if they repair it then all good, I get my Bike back,
if not, and they write it off, I either get my 'salvage Bike' sent back to me and then i'll have to get the repairs done,
OR
the salvage company will buy my 'salvage' and dispose of it...
I paid £1650 for it in May, so doubt i'll get anywhere near that for it!
meaning then I got to fork out money to buy a new Bike.

Re: Wrecked PCX
Well apparently according to the paperwork, they repair it, or if they don't think it's worth it, they either send it back to me or give me the money for it, but it's just a salvage price, I wont get a new Scooter from anyone or enough to buy a new Scooter.....
so yeah, a bit confused about it all, I shouldn't be the one out of pocket, I was hit, I should have my Bike back, repaired, or a new one, I shouldn't have to have my broken one back and have to get it repaired myself, or just get given my money back I paid for it or near enough to be able to get another one.....
