buy pcx 2014 or wait for forza 125
First of all I'd like to say that this is my first post in this forum, so please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong...
Lets go to the topic.
It has come for me the time to upgrade my scooter, as the piaggio zip 1 I'm riding at the moment is too thirsty (almost 10l/100km) and petrol here is not that cheap... That is why I had planed to buy 2014 pcx as it is, quoting another member of the forum, sex on wheels. Absolutely fallen in love with the bike. My dad has the 2012 version of the pcx, so although it is not that new for me, I love the improvements of the aesthetics made by honda and I also appreciate the durability of its components (not a single thing broken in my dad's bike in two years).
Just after having made my mind for getting the pcx, Honda released the new forza which is a bit more powerfull but not that atractive for me.
The point is, should I go ahead and get the pcx or should I wait for the Forza.
I am planning to do about 300 to 350 km/week. 100 of them on urban roads and the rest of them on open roads but never going faster than 80km/h. I know that is a quite "heavy" use for a scooter, that is why I still need to consider the forza. Those extra 3bhp will definitively make an improvement.
I would also like to know your opinion in my bike's lifespan with that usage. I don't usually abuse of my scooter, but neither I am a slow rider (just very few times I ride it tho the red line, as everybody I guess...) But servicing is somthing I give a lot of importance,I always have it up to date and I dont care spending a bit more and change oil every fewer kms.
So these are my main concerns. Thank you all for your replies.

It seems like you need the Forza 300 for its extra power.

Re: buy pcx 2014 or wait for forza 125
I am betting the the Forza won't get anything close to the fuel economy of the pcx. I would also bet that the Forza is heavier, which might be good on a Freeway/expressway but not that great in the tight spots in town. If i recall correctly, there are a lot of narrow streets and alleys in the towns in Spain. I think you should go with your first choice, the pcx. You can increase its output topend by changing the variator and drive face. Maintenance iss easy on the pcx, AND the pcx isn't in the middle of a fuel pump recall. ;-)
Currently own:
Red 2013 Honda PCX150
Givi tall windshield & tailbox - Lots of extra lights
Custom seat from Thailand - Bad Boy Airhorn
Takegawa Lowering Shocks - Michelin City Grip Tires
Headlight assy upgraded to LEDs w/HS5 main bulbs
NCY variator, drive face, and rollers

The new Forza will be more expensive than the outgoing S-wing 125 which it replaces.
Don't expect it to see any change from €5000
UK price of PCX125 is £2700 and S-wing125 is £3999

Here you need a special licence to ride anything avobe 125cc or 11kw. I'm just 18 so need to wait and get the licence for ride any bike, for what you need to be 21.

The new forza is suppoused to do 100km with just 2.2l, just like the pcx 2012.
Most of the streets in my country are very narrow indeed, specialy in my area (south) as some town's streets were made by the arabics. Cars barely fit. That's a good point for the pcx.
Regarding the increase of performance, I guess I'd need to wait two years if I don't want to void the warranty, am I wrong?

Wow that's expensive. It is far over my budget. Even if the ABS model is priced like that I cant afford it.
Thank you all for your replies. I think I've made my mind a bit. Tomorrow I may go to the Honda dealer and ask for a ride.

Re: buy pcx 2014 or wait for forza 125
It seems like Honda hope those with basic CBT's may go for the 125 Forza for it's extra power, but as those with CBT's are limited to no motorways and no passengers, I wonder how many they will sell for almost double the PCX price (but it may be sold for less than that). It may be of use to those with A1's though, but most go for A2/Full and larger bikes.

Re: buy pcx 2014 or wait for forza 125
Today I've visited my local dealer to check a couple of things about the bike, and I'll probably get it in the following months (wondering if this could be a Christmas present...
)
We have also talked about the Forza, and she told me that they wouldn't know its price until March or so, and that it wouldn't cost less than 4000€. Too late and expensive for me.
So, that's all. I hope I can meet you all soon with my brand new pcx matt grey

Re: buy pcx 2014 or wait for forza 125
4000 for a 125 scooter isn't really an amazing selling point, and take the meaning away from cheap motoring..
the CBR125, yes its a bike but still its one hell of a motorcycle, sits comfortable at 70mph, and still only retails at £3599 (UK)
they should have kept the forza 300cc >

The Forza 125 is the replacement for the S-wing 125.
The 300 Forza remains in production.

I use to see a fair amount of S-Wings around, not so the past few years. However I've now seen about 4 new-style PCX's the past 2 months, even rode behind one for several miles. All have been white.

Don't think so
- different parts of London and from what I recall, not the same rider
. It's about 6 months on now since launch, so more will be on the road. I'd imagine the new look / features would have swayed some people otherwise looking at the Vision (110cc) or SHi (125).

Oh dude you must purchase a Mobius action cam and set it to film in 25 second time laps mode. You sir would produce the most beautiful HD 1080p landscape stills ever posted in here. You and fish really need to step up your game. All those in favor of Adrian doing video raise your hands... get em up boys.adrianwo wrote:Here are some of the pics I promised.
