@Bash On! - My husband sprayed painted a black mesh riding jacket with fluorescent paint made for fabric. Gave it an interesting warn look. He usually wears a Hi-Viz rain jacket over it. when we first purchased our scooters it took a bit for us to realize the importance of Hi-Viz gear.
@fish, MikeP & SECoda - I think its cool riding and posting pictures of our scoots in their natural environment. I look forward to seeing all your photos and the stories that go with them. Mike, Our scoots are not that clean. the shot of our scoots are far enough away to give that false impression. Fish is the guy with the clean scoots! :D

When I think of when first getting our scoots this spring up until now it's been a interesting journey. I realized I learned a lot about riding and the joys found in it. The simple things like different smells and sights you encounter unlike when you're in a car. The excitement you feel when your're leaning into a turn or accelerating on a straight stretch of road. Its all been a great adventure! :D

I missed this. What camera is this again? 60 FPS @ 1080P? Looks pretty good at night.

About 70 degrees F at night :D

Plexus is stated to have anti-static properties, but it does NOT prevent fogging in the least.

For humid days, I use Clarity DeFog It. I have both the liquid and the wipes. Both work equally well, but I think the wipes are a tad easier to apply. Haven't had an opportunity to test it in ice cold conditions yet though ;) .

The past two days have been at or near 50 degrees F and the snow is gone from the streets but the battery remains on the trickle charger in the basement. It is in the upper 20's today and the temperatures are supposed to get near 30 by the weekend , I was tempted to go for a ride but common sense prevailed. It would be too sad to put away again in a few days.

Dressed warm today 12/16. Temp 45F. Layered my clothing. Thermal top with t-shirt over it, thermal pants, my armor Bohn Adventure pants with Kevlar jeans over both. Knee hi wick away socks, Daytona high boots, Rev'it gloves, Rev'it Hi-Vis Jacket with liner IN, and most importantly, my Hi-Vis Nolan helmet. Rode at speeds varying 20-50. I was comfortable. Hands were a wee bit cold but nothing worth complaining about. It started drizzling on the way home (good timing). Lots of traffic on the roads, holiday shoppers. Scary because they're texting more than ever now and NOT paying attention to ANYTHING! I found myself flapping my arms like a bird as I approached busy intersections in hopes that driver(s) would catch a glimpse of my Screaming Yellow arms. SEE ME YET? Wow! They did. Lots of folks staring at me today and the bike. Horns beeping, smiling faces. Cool right?
Anyway it felt good today riding, especially telling mother nature who was the boss. Today,...ME! I'll do it again. I'm having hard time retiring WN for the winter. God knows....I love this scoot. I think WN is keen on me too ;) :D
Pics to follow. Too late now (1:23am)
Night folks :P

Got armoured jackets and trousers, but for summer when I may ride in jeans and lighter jacket, I'm thinking about these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161297972328? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Quick fasten over knee / elbow area, easy to position just right, and should be better than nothing when full gear is not worn.

@WhiteNoise - Cant wait to see you pics of W/N. It's so cool how we love our scoots.

45 F. is considered riding weather to me. Not looking good for me right now. It's below freezing right now. We plan to keep our scoots at the ready just incase.
@iceman - Looks like a good idea. Except I like shin protection with my knee guards. Also my mesh riding jacket is good for the summer when the liner is out. Flows air really well. Also has shoulder, back and elbow protection. I really never got to hot. maybe a little at really long traffic lights.

In the 20's now, so not doing any leisure riding....making do with two rides for work each day, taking the longer route each time. 45-50 mins , but not much longer. keeps it enjoyable (until Santa brings my heated gloves)
Are we about half way through the winter ? Not too bad - with only one session of city bus riding so far.

30s here which is cold for us in December plus a dusting of snow. It's supposed to be back up to the upper 40s on the weekend and sunny. It's a great time to accessorize the bikes!

Here ya go Steph and peeps, a few pics of me recent ride mentioned above.
Stopped first to pick up a sink stopper for Mom at my favorite hardware store. While there got me a Baskin Robbins chocolate chip cone (no, Not coffee).
The water seen is the Great South Bay. Amazingly it was like glass. Very unusual. A ferry came along and made a few ripples that minutes later kissed the rocks nearby ever so softly. Time was around 4 PMish.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 45 degree temp. and marvelous serenity. A very nice gent was walking his young Pit Bull on the boardwalk. I asked if he would take a few pics of me with WN. He did so gladly. Nice to be Nice, right?
When I got into town things got busy. Had both me eyes constantly scanning. The town onlookers were in awe as I rode by. "You Looking At Me?" "Are You Looking at Me?" Gosh I LOVE that!!
WN ROCKS MY WORLD!!! :D

@WhiteNoise - Love the shot out on the dock. The water is one of my favorite places. It's still below freezing here.

Not sure How fish can endure the cold. Oh, that's right, he wears enough clothing that he can barely mount his scoot! ;)

@homie me boy, I will take young Billy up on the bail money. None left in my pockets. Christmas has left a big hole in them. Give him a hug for me, will Ya! ;)

Info: Suffolk County, L.I. has lotsa water to visit. So why not visit? Grew up with it, fished in it, swam in it, boating...love it. It's an Island, surrounded by salty H2O ;)
Suffolk County runs from mid Long Island to the eastern most point of the Island: known as Montauk Point. Fabulous area, along with the very popular Hamptons ("Stardom" land).
I can travel (ride) Suffolk County 86 miles in length or 26 miles in width or....all of it, (if I'm up tuit)
any warm(ish) day. Nassau County (the western part of Long Island) is very populated and busy. At this time, I have no desire to ride in Nassau (other than to meet with riding friends who live close to the city limits). I prefer peaceful riding at my age (be good, don't ask :P )

So tell me homie, where dost thou ride in Chicagoville? Have Ya gotten outta Dodge yet? :P

We are having a very mild winter so far I have no plan to bail out yet.

Still trying to understand how you were able drive on a boardwalk in Florida and not end up in handcuffs
Also how did you get your camera on those Pelican caps and why do I see these new caps frequently in your pics? I know gulls are aggressive but those wont stop a swarm of seagulls wanting your crab cake so they must be for the pelicans. My question since I moved from Florida to Chicago is why are we pushing the awesome Pelicans off their favorite perch? This is a hallmark image for Florida & tourist love those fat birds posing for pictures.

Ace Hardware!?!! Now you are talking about my favorite "candy store"! My wife lets mewindow shop in there ever so often, and sometimes i even get to buy something. They have some very unique items, and some of the stores let local artists display and sell their items in the store.

homie, Catch up! I'm "out of FL" and living on Long Island. 15 years in FL was enough for me (you too from what I've read).
I Laughed when I read your comment about getting away with riding on the boardwalk. Nope no handcuffs. I rode the huge parking lot first looking for the authorities (beach patrol), didn't see hide nor hair of them. So off the pavement and onto the sandy walk I rode. I just couldn't resist. Note, I was prepared to tell the "beach patrol" person (if they happen to show up), that I was doing a camera shoot for our local scooter club magazine. Of course I would then ask him if he would be kind enough to stand next to WN for a "quick pic." That outta do it (I thought) :D Ahh, but he never appeared. But! I had an audience. Several cars were parked in the lot gazing at the water, ferry and bridges then suddenly I appeared & became part of their view. Showtime! "Curtain up, light the lights!" An unexpected treat for them. I took lots of pics and posed WN. They must have enjoyed it all. I plum forgot they were all there! Oh well. Caught up in photo moments. You know how it goes ;)

Mel, Ace hardware? The best! I think I've said this before but what the heck! Saying it agin - I get lost in there. It's all that it can be. You know exactly what I'm saying cause you're in the same store in another town in another aisle (no, probably the Same isle  ). Great stuff in there especially for those that love to improvise ;)
Up north, on L.I., the Ace stores do not have have local artists selling their goods :( BooHoo.
Down South in FL, etc., they do. I'm disappointed about that! I bought quite a few items in their Southern stores. I'm getting over it, but still not happy about it.
However....it's a Great Store, and next to Baskin Robbins? :P hey, hey! Win Win!!

Great! I can still see pelicans sitting atop the pilings when I get down FLA. Glad the old grey held you up and those are pictures for the archives. Too bad they hate pelicans in Long Island ;)
