Some chest mount videos. Do well even on really rough roads.

Ninja 1000

Lots of fancy mounts

chest mount vs helmet mount. The comments pretty much say the chest mount is the way to go.

This guy has reduced the resolution to 720P and narrowed the FOV to eliminate YT pixilation.

I ran one of todays clips through the stabilizer on YT. It is 720P 30 FPS.

Some type of stabilization is necessary. They have some software you can buy that was developed for action cams like Go Pro and Mobius. YT stabilization isn't optimal. :P

I think I found the best bang for the buck stabilization software. They even compare the effects with Sony's camera internal stabilization and you can see where it cannot compete with good software stabilization.

This is the consumer version of their software for $20. You can download for a free trial and it will do side-by-side of your video clips with and without stabilization. It just won't let you save the file until you pay for it.

This is their professional software version. It can do some amazing things but is priced accordingly. It was designed with motorcycles among other sports in mind.

Here is a video comparison of this software with Sony's internal camera stabilization. (camera stabilization doesn't work very well for the significant shakes our bikes do)
Stabilization "shake off" - Mercalli V4 SAL+ vs. in-cam stabilization

BTW - my Go Pro mounts (5) pack from EBay arrived and am just waiting for the Mobius/tripod/Go Pro adapter.

I will post some of my videos BEFORE and AFTER the stabilization fix.

I would say the other way around, you would rather hide your arms. At least thats what I see in the UK (and happy about it).

1080P Stabilized

Please look at both clips side by side and let me know if it is improved. :P

Before stabilization.

After stabilization.
(be sure to run in 1080P - mobiles won't do it) The sun is to the front with a bit amount of glare.

What set up is this one? This works great! What happens when idling? Is this wireless and could it be continuously powered?

That is default settings in Mobius Mode 1 at 1080P 30 FPS
Running on battery alone
Helmet mount with just Velcro
The MOV file is run through the Mercalli Stabilization software creating an Mpeg that I uploaded to YouTube.

At a stop the image is crystal clear.

Next I will set the video so it defaults to 1080P on Youtube.

The Mobius doesn't need the power hookup unless the temperature is cold (below 40ish) which knocks the duration way down. I have seen it go about 50% of the 80 minutes with my battery at 38 degrees. At 60 degrees and above it is nearly the full time.

The Mobius tripod/Go Pro adapter arrived so that all of the inexpensive Go Pro mounts now work off of EBay! So many projects - so little time... :P

Going for a ride in a bit. Trying the chest mount with the Mobius for the first time. It will be looking through the windshield.

Here is a one of ten clips from today's ride. First time using the camera chest mount and it was pointed a bit high. It gets a bit lower about 1.15 into it when I noticed it up. I ended up doing about 63 miles by the end of the day.

As always set it to 1080P and watching on mobile is useless.
