2015 PCX 150 performance vs previous models

Ok, So the blurb on Honda's site is inconclusive. Has the new 2015 got any improvements in power, handling or top speed or is it basically cosmetic with a larger tank ?

I'd just like this clarified using the most scientific method I can think of... the SEAT-OF-THE-PANTS-O-METER.

Alternatively, if you do happen to have some data-logging evidence that would be useful too.



And that goes for non-red models too (because we know red is always faster).

I know the 2015 has shorter gearing than the 2013, so you'll be running about 3 mph slower as far as top speed.

It's been said the belt length/width is different too, but I'm not sure what that does to performance. Weights are heavier too, so that might explain why the stated fuel economy is higher.

They helped the "hump" seat a bit but yes it is slower. Even buying now I would go for a real bargain price on a new 2013 here and throw a $100 seat on it again. I like red though. Here the 2015's are only black and white/pearl. I like the white.

Looking at Valiant's Youtube videos, the 2015s are still very capable of cruising at 50 to 60 mph, which is what is the most important to me.

I'm pretty sure what's happening is that the shorter gearing means you can only hit 64 mph at the rev limit of 9600rpm, where as the 2013 can hit 67 mph at the same rev limit of 9600rpm.

And yes, my PCX can cruise at 50-60 mph quite easily, but I'm not a fan of sticking in the right "slow" lane where you have a ramp merge every 20 seconds, thus my quest for more speed so I can comfortably cruise in the privileged "fast" lane . I'm also hoping that longer gearing might help improve my fuel economy, as it's stubbornly staying at 83 mpg right now with my usual commute(on the freeway) to my college campus.

My Forza will fly all day at 70 mph but mileage is only around 70 mpg. I know they nail you guys for gas over there.

My BWS 50cc which tops out at 37 mph on a flat road (GPS confirmed) averages 63 mpg. 83 and even 70 sounds amazing. Wow $3.13 a gallon average in Hawaii right now. We're about $3 US a gallon here, but at 63mpg even $5 a gallon like it was last summer doesn't really matter in a scooter. It did for my car.

I will have the luxury of flying past rush hour traffic in the HOV lane to the very left, or just stick with the right lane during non rush hour if I can't keep up with HOV traffic. With how the drivers are in the Vancouver area, I want a shoulder lane as a safety buffer. I'll be following what you do to get a bit more speed and mpg from your PCX. I noticed your closely spaced ramps. The freeway I need to travel on only has 6 full and 2 half interchanges over 14 miles.

I trade a bit and oil fell to $44.25 a barrel yesterday setting a new 6 year low. Gas still should be falling. Gas here should get below $1.50 soon. About 1.76 now.
