2014/2015 GIVI Windscreen D1136ST

Post by WhiteNoise »

AVAILABLE in clear only come mid February 2015 at Revzilla. I just gave them my email address and they will notify me when it arrives. Want on their list? Click here and give them your email: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi ... cx150-2015

I'm considering buying the Givi as I had one before on my 2011 and "liked" it. If the Fabbri was available, I'd consider that too (from experience, it's also good quality, but I think a bit higher?)

I really do enjoy the stock screen. Fun. No complaints. So still torn with getting higher. If I rode in the rain, I'd be saying different, I'm sure. Anyway, I'm on their list should I decide by the time the Givi arrives at Revzilla :P
Cheerio!

Hmm, would you say the design is fairly decent as far as aerodynamics?

The Fabri screen seems unnecessarily wide(I doubt the exposed arms would provide more wind resistance). The Honda screen just seems like a flat sheet of plastic.

I know the Kitaco Aeroscreen is highly rated and seems to have grooves placed in the middle of the screen that would shunt the air to the side instead of making it go all the way to the top of the screen. The Givi seems to have that design as well, but not quite as pronounced.

Hey guys, just wondering if the screens help with top speed or does it make no noticeable difference?

I'm not sure how the aerodynamics would be affected (better or worse) than the stock screen.

Any seat of the pants test results on screens vs performance?

Maybe 1-2 mph.

It pushes the wind stream above and around your chest.

I'd honestly consider it more of a comfort upgrade rather than a serious performance upgrade.

The benefits also depend on riding style and choice of clothing/gear. If you wear a T-shirt while riding, and you tuck your head down a lot, you probably won't notice a thing.

If however you prefer to ride sitting straight up and tend to wear really bulky armored riding gear, then this might make the experience more pleasant and eliminate a lot of wind drag.

I installed one about a month ago. It was easy to install and does help to cut down wind resistance. I'm 5'5" and the wind blows up into my helmet. It gets extremely hot here in Vegas during the summer so the extra breeze is a welcome relief.
