Centre Stand Stuck
My PCX is now 2 1/2 years old, full Honda service history, and has an extended warranty.
Anyway to the point. went to put it on the centre stand the over day and not a chance of moving the centre stand, had been fine the day before. Anyway a few weeks later and the bike is in for it's 10k service. I mention the centre stand to them and get told, no problems it prob just needs some grease.
Then get a phone call to say, sorry it has seized solid, we'll have to cut it off and put an new one on. No problems say I, it's under extended warranty. Well fast forward a week, it would seem that Honda take the view that as it has corroded solid it's not covered under warranty. And they want 130+ quid to fix it. I've pointed out that if a part has corroded to the point that it doesn't work after 30 ish months then really it's not fit for purpose.
Anyway, seems I'll just be using the side stand from now on. And not replacing it was another Honda (PCX or otherwise) in October.

Not a surprise, it should have a grease nipple on it and should be part of the service schedule.
The stand on my Forza (same design) started seizing up at two months from new.

Does yours fall in the non-ESP group? That group had many failures of the center stand, and some cracked casings as well. Something to think about. The problem was supposedly resolved in the 2013 and newer ones.
You can tell if it is an esp by looking on the left side where the belt area is. It would han ESP in big letters on it.

Installing a gen. Honda accessory center stand on my son's new CB500X tomorrow....instructions say to grease the heck out of it. Will do after reading this post. Only one small nut and bolt hold the shaft on, so will pop it off every so often and grease it some more.

If you can get it off, people posted recently that the part on costs a few $10's of dollars new or can be had off Ebay or such from time to time. Forget the dealer - if you can unbolt it then swap it your self or get a local garage to do it - that is unless Honda and the Dealer reconsider as it should not sieze if greasing it is part of the schedule - looks like another case of a dealer taking lots of dosh on services and not doing many parts of the service. Dealers - do you ever trust them!

Yes, use a phillips screw driver. Put tip on the bike hook, spring caught on the screwdriver. Apply a liitle levering pressure, then with other hand slide spring over to the bike hook.....then muck about till you get it hooked. Pull out the screwdriver......whole business is a bit easier if you grease the screwdriver for easier sliding. Saw this Asian fellow on youtube do this while sitting in the grass.

If you position the screwdriver correctly and lever it hard enough while holding the stand up, the spring will slide into position all on its own.

Just had my stand seize up(to the point that it would not fully retract) it was fine untill 2 weeks ago and got worse untill i couldnt fully lift the center stand to a "closed" position thus making it too low and it was scraping when i banked round corners.
Allthough it was strange the stand was fine 2 weeks ago i thought a good amount of wd40 might resolve the issue so i tried it and free'd it up a bit (enough for it to fully retract again) but not enough not to worry about it again!
Since then i have put 200 miles on it and it seems the wd40 has worked its way into the seizure and resolved the issue although when i get time i'll be taking it off and greasing it up.
Hope this helps anyone with simular issues, its certainley worth a try before shelling out for a new stand.

Get some diesel and a paint brush and work in. Repeat over a week or so. Tip the bike over and syringe a few millilitres where it will drain down the centre rod. It'll work eventually

I always and i mean always cover the underside of my bike with ACF50 every winter, and after each downpour once in garage and dried, just helps keep it together.

Alas, you also make some of the best anti-corrosion compounds known to man. The can of Waxoyl I bought years ago has served me well.
