Short-term storage of my PCX

So I'm going on vacation soon and my PCX will be idle for exactly 21 days. Back in my car-owning days, I'd just park it, lock it, and forget about it. Is there anything special that needs to be done for a PCX? Battery disconnection? Anything? Or can I just park it, lock it, and forget about it?

Have you got a secure place to keep it? What part of the city are you in?

It's got a disc lock AND it is chained to a support pillar of my house. And I live in a residential area of Phra Khanong. Nice area too.

I thought of driving the bike into my living room, but I got some extremely heavy patio furniture in the way.

Do you have a way to get it into a locked yard, such as your back yard? Other than that, your bike should be fine for such a short time. If you left it for months instead of days i would suggest a battery tender.

Nope, sorry. No back yard. either I move cement patio furniture to drive into my living room, or I chain it to my house

I hope it's a really nice neighborhood, because even the smallest bolt cutters could clip that chain(and the padlock, but that would be tougher).

I believe 12-13mm chains can be cut with most of the larger domestic bolt cutters, whereas 15mm chains are too big accept for industrial ones. Something like that

Just a thought, The newer Asian model PCX's had a alarm system on it, that was armed when parked. If yours has this. Then the month long storage may be long enough for the alarm system to drain the battery.

If not, then nothing to do storage wise, except nail it down, cover it, and hope no one jacks it.

I have the alarm, but it has to be set. It doesn't automatically turn itself on. But you do raise a valid point. I thought of this as well and was not planning on turning on the alarm.

Oh man, you're talking link diameters of half inch or more. I'd need a forklift to move it LOL Seriously, The purpose of the chain is to keep the casual thief at bay. If someone wants my bike, they will take it regardless of what I do. But I will look in to shorter lengths of thicker chain.
