Custom painting of windscreen

Post by johnnytraveler »

As scooters are ubiquitous here in Vietnam. I figure I gotta do something to make mine unique.

So next week in gonna drop off my windscreen for some painting. I'm gonna get Darth Vader painted (see pic) on my windscreen. I'm hoping it'll look cool with my matte black PCX.

Found another American living here who had the US flag painted on his helmet (see pic). Total damage 80 usd, and about a week riding around without the screen.
I'll post pics of the finished work.

"Found another American living here who had the US flag painted on his helmet."

I'm a vet and as patriotic as the next guy, but in this day-and-age doing that seems to be looking for trouble in a foreign land, even in a relatively safe place.

Cool on doing things to look different, but I'm all for not spending money unless it makes a substantial functional difference (i.e., cheap b~~d).

Best,
Bash, on a bone-stock PCX
2013 PCX 150 [now an ex-bike, soon to be consigned to the bottom line of the sig]
2013 Silver Wing ABS (Black)
1971 BMW R75/5 (White)
Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?

Cool. The guy with the US flag is also a veteran. He's retired, living in Vietnam. The locals don't seem bothered by his helmet or his Harley.

Unfortunately, performance upgrades are not useful here, imo. Traffic is so bad that I can't get any sustainable time above 30 mph.

Isn't a PCX kind of massive overkill then?

Here it's a 125cc not a 150cc. But yeah, I'll never get to wind it out unless I do a road trip to the countryside.

Day to day driving is in the 15-25 mph range. Bad, dangerous and heavy traffic really limits the fun factor.
