Hump solution

Post by abcdarko »

Greetings to you all from Belgrade Serbia!

Yesterday morning took me 30 minutes to move backwards my hump for an inch, sufficient if you are 180 to stretch your legs while riding.
- take the hump off the seat (unbolt 2 nuts 10mm cylinder wrench)
- undo the staples with a screwdriver and pliers (waste them)
- take of the foam part (glued with some gum glue - easy to detach)
- you will see that the SQUARE heads of bolts are moulded into plastic "H"- tic tac toe place
- use the machine with big drill to destroy covering plastic and release heads
- once you are finished, put the nut on the bolt and hit it with a hummer to pop out
- the bolts can be advanced one place in the "H"- tic tac toe plastic pattern (one place approx. 2cm) towards the front
- bore new holes ( I think 8-10mm but please compare it to the unthreaded part of the bolt)
- insert bolts and secure them in place with a little tape or glue/sylicone (foam will also press them)
- once you have them in place, put back the foam and material
- the best is to ask local upholstery guy to staple it back for you (some tape is useful for test until stapled)
- screw it on and test

BE VERY CAREFUL, this (2cm) is most you should do
Sorry for not posting some pics

Hope you will also find it beneficial!

Hey Welcome & thanks for posting your solution for the "hump." I'm sure some will find your custom Fix very helpful. Would love to see a pic, if you have one or more. Cool. Cheers! :)

Not much to see but I will post one for sure. The job is easy and gain is OK, If my seat was factory made this way I wouldn't be thinking of hump removal at all. I had few models of Beverly 250 and just sold my CB500x Honda, honestly I take lots of joy riding PCX now.Not as sexy as BMW C650 but quite worry free. The leg position was the reason I bought it, rare for 125.

:) I can definitely see the difference. You gained several inches by doing so (4" or...). Looking at one of the pics, the hump appears to line up with the seam of the grab rail panel. That's a good indication of it's new position....a mark for us to judge by. If I'm wrong please advise. Excellent job abc, enjoy it!
Happy butt trails to ya! :P

This is a small step for man, a giant leap for midgets, not acctually 4 but 1 inch back 2 in the length of your leg.
