For the Forza, Honda owner's manual (and throughout the service manual) specifies the "M".
So, that's what I use - only more often.

Yeah the PCX manual says the same thing. Just wondering if anyone has a clear preference with information to back it up.

The HP4S is a full synthetic oil that's made for Honda motorcycles but can also be used in their scooters. This exceeds HP4M spec.

HP4M is a semi synthetic oil with moly that's made for Honda scooters only. Do not use this in motorcycles with wet clutches.

HP4 is a semi synthetic oil without moly made for Honda motorcycles but can also be used in their scooters. This does not meet HP4M spec.

Synthetic engine oil has no moly , they are not similar oils .

The PCX has a dry clutch.

Use ANY synthetic oil of the correct weight. 0w30 to 10w30, or if it's warmer, 0w40 to 10w40 are all fine.

I have been running 10w30 year-round, and use either Penzoil synthetic or Castroil synthetic car oil (whichever the local AutoZone has on sale). My PCX has used car oil its whole life and still runs great at over 12k miles.

The question of what oil to use and what tyres are best comes up so often, almost worth having the 'pearls of wisdom' on a sticky or Faq and point people to that. someone will now add that that already exists

Mazda has a 0W20 oil with Moly for their Skyactiv engines.

And yes, the Honda PCX150 and almost every other scooter out there have dry clutches. Almost every motorcycle out there have wet clutches.

HP4M is better if you ride your scooter in mostly city conditions. I would give HP4S the edge if you ride at high RPMs more than half the time as full synthetic oils stand up better to those conditions.

I live in Houston, TX so I think that qualifies as "warmer" weather. And it's half city conditions, half high rpm's, depending on if you decide to drive during rush hour. My commute is usually limited to about 40-45 mph, mostly because it's only 2 miles. So it sounds like I should use 10w40 HP4M.
