Ordered a new PCX 125 today

Post by Honda cub »

I've ordered a new Honda PCX 125 in red with top box today from my local Honda dealer. I'm taking delivery of the PCX on the 26th of this month because I'll be on holiday in Devon for a week.

They had a couple of 2015 PCX's, a black and a white one but I really wanted one in red. They look a lovely scooter and seem to offer me everything I need. For a while I couldn't decide between a 2015 PCX with top box or a 2015 SH125i with ABS and top box.

In the end the "bike" look as opposed to the flat floor "scooter" look did it for me, but I very nearly went for the SH125i. One thing I do prefer on the SH125i is the dash display, the extra temperature gauge is nice and I wish the PCX did come with this feature, but you can't have everything so I'll make do with a temperature warning light.

You realize the 2016 PCX's were announced and candy red is an option?

Before I mounted a tail box, I used to get waves from other motorcyclists because the PCX looks like a sport bike from the front. With the tail box it's more easily pegged as a scooter and hardly any more waves. I'm okay with that. Really.
2013 PCX 150 [now an ex-bike, soon to be consigned to the bottom line of the sig]

Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?

It's so hit & miss on waves. I've gotten to the point I just don't wave ever. I'm a PCX on an island!

I stopped waving when I realized I passed a couple hundred cycles a day if the weather was good. Too much hassle, really, and it's not like I'm in some exclusive club where I see one other guy riding per week. If you wave at every cycle you pass in my city, you might as well just ride with your left hand perpetually waving like you're the Queen.

If I drove a rare classic car and once in a blue moon I saw another guy driving one also, I might give a wave. But cycles are commonplace.

lmao that's a good point. I don't see a lot of motorcycles in my area around this time for me, but they are coming out more & more on my commute to & from work.

Most of the people around here are on Harleys, too. I've found that they will initiate a wave to another Harley, but if I'm on my PCX or old BMW airhead, I am ignored. Not cool enough to merit recognition. lol

I've noticed that too. I always thought it was just being friendly to other riders, but some will take it to a whole new level.

Every bike that I've come across has waved to me, even with my top box. Some of them even were on Harleys!

I always thought the top box made the bike look more like a cruiser. Without one. It looks odd to me.
