Hello mates ! Im have question about the alarm

Post by PCX 125 CANDY RED »

Hi there !
I got my PCX just yesterday. I have the alarm that looks like this one on the pics below

I can see only LED red lamp.

So what is problem: HOW to stop running the security mode ? For example i need to fix anything or I just simply want to seat on the scooter during awaiting for somebody, now I can not, cuz once I stop engine the security mode activating. Red lamp turn on, then in (may be) 30 -60 sec start blinks, and if seat its activate the alarm.

So how not to activate the alarm ? Thanks in advance.

May be there is some tricks, for example twice move key or like that.

Advice please, thanks.

I'm curious about this one too, since I know nothing about the factory alarm.

I'd guess you might disconnect the battery when servicing, but am not sure.

If you leave the key in the "seat" position does the alarm activate?

Hi. Thanks for responding. Yes if leave key even in seat position that will activate security mode anyway.

But !!! Today spontaneously I got it how to turn off the alarm :)
Turf of engine - mode activated - red lamp is on and ready in 40 sec stay on security mode. Press left brake and turn engine - I you will hear that alarm beeps twice then no indication on the lamp, mode is turned off :) So it's always on, for you never forget turn on, it's always goes to the security mode automatically, but seldom when you need you can easily turn it off. Pretty smart.

Honda must have changed the way the factory alarm works on never models. The much older PCX user manual for WW125s models states when turning the ignition off you need to press set on the remote fob to activate the alarm or press the mode switch for 3 seconds. It also states that if the bike is left for some time, more than ten days with the ignition off, the alarm is automatically deactivated needing the ignition to be set to 'on' to re-enable it < not great if your going on holiday! (maybe due to the older batteries and power drain).

It seems the above was not ideal so they have improved the system.
