Seven dollars and twenty cents
Just took the PCX to the dealer for the 1000 kilometer service.
Drove in, waited an hour, drove out. Did not get the valves checked - would have had to leave the bike and arrange rides.
Total cost for the oil change and service - $7.20 USD
Only in Thailand

Re: Seven dollars and twenty cents
Did you watch them? Yeah, "they say" they do a lot of things.
I was told all my aftermarket parts were installed and they just need to tune the fuel mix. When I demanded my PCX back 11 days after leaving it at the shop, I didn't observe any evidence of installation. When I asked for the parts back, I was told to come back Monday. When I called the police, I had my parts back inside of 5 minutes. Nothing got installed.
Be nosy, and be suspicious if they won't allow you to observe their work. Yeah, maybe you might get in the way, but this is a pretty pricey investment, and you ought to be able to see what's being done with your property.

Re: Seven dollars and twenty cents
Bobs, $7.20...even in Thailand that sounds like the cost of the coffee they drank while they talked about what to claim they did to your bike.
Good grief Valiant - that shop must have no competition and friends in high places to have such big popos. I hope you have an alternative.

That's pretty much standard. When I had a Honda Wave 100, a new spark plug, new air filter, and an oil change ran me 600 baht. That's about $18 US. And yes, I watched them do all the work at the local shop. $7.20 is about 250 Thai baht - the going price for an oil change.

I think the poster was talking about a basic service and you wanted something different. From the workshops perspective some work is hard, some is easy. Same for the customers.
Re: Seven dollars and twenty cents
Probably not the only basic service you can get for $7.20 in Thailand.

Nope, a basic service is no use to a man of my tastes......

Now there's a challenge; What would the Scottish sheep fashionista ride?DrewJW wrote:Wonder if they're partial to Forza 300'sfun2scoot wrote:Lots of sheep farms in Scotland as I recall...
Well, we know the color obviously; white with a Blackface, and no horn is needed as both genders have 'em. Two-up is mandatory 'cause he'll want to ride with ewe.
And no self respecting ram would be caught dead on a Wolf, or a Cub, and they already have Flys. And if Kymco already has People - do sheep need 'em?
Well, we know he wants to look baaa'd so Aries tops his list, with a trunk for his coat, of coarse.
But what does he do if he finds himself in a Danish Landrace? Get fleeced? Nah, he'd probably just take in a Movie Downtown.
A ba dee a ba dee that's all folks!

I don't think it would be the sheep doing the riding...

"How much is service?"
"$7.20. Less if you let me ride with your sheep."
"$7.20. Less if you let me ride with your sheep."
2013 PCX 150 [now an ex-bike, soon to be consigned to the bottom line of the sig]
2013 Silver Wing ABS (Black)
1971 BMW R75/5 (White)
Too many ex-bikes to list, and, besides, who really cares what we used to own?
