bearing rear wheel

Post by freewillie987 »

I went today to my dealer for a maintenance for my PCX.

He told me that the bearing of my rear wheel was wasted. I didn't notice the noise of the rear wheel while driving.

He says it's normally under warranty , so I hope it is.

I've got a single shock, one from TRPracing, at the rear and that could give a problem. He says if you change into something that's not stock you loose the warranty.

I also commute on a dutch forum and there are other PCX-ers who have the same problems.

So everyone keep their fingers crossed. :)

I'm also from Belgium, have the same TRP shock (first one that was available after testing was done). The TRP has been officially accepted by Honda now. The TRP makes a big difference IMO, really comfortable ride even with two persons on it.

My bearing was wasted at 7000km and got replaced in warranty. I'm now over 10000km and I start hearing the same noise again (just a little). Called the dealer and he says no problem, even when out of warranty Honda will replace it because it's not normal. Same thing with the sparking plug (engine starts to behave after 6000km, slows down), that has been replaced under warranty.

What did the noise it make sound like? I checked mine and it sounded and felt normal, so I assumed it was okay.

Got mine back since yesterday and it wasn't the bearing. There was a problem with variator but I don't know what exactly.

It also was under warranty.

Still something to think about.

I hope this is the last thing what happened because today my windshield of my VW cracked.

And I am not insured for this . :(

Hi freewillie987. What year PCX? (new version or older model basically). Some people have had rear bearing issues soon after purchase - seems that wasn't the case this time around. You say the spark plug was causing grief 6K in - well, I believe the schedule calls for it to be replaced at 5K (even though it probably can last much longer most of the time). Did you have the 5K service done? Just wondering if they did not bother to change it or if the new one became faulty, as new parts sometimes do.
