Hello Fellow PCXers!

Post by Litlgrn »

I'm new here. I just bought a beautiful 2015 PCX 150, black, today. Drove it home about 40 miles or so on two lane highways and about two miles on freeway. Love the bike and am very happy that I have it.
A few observations along the way; the wind is blasting me as I ride with stock wind shield. (I know that the topic is heavily covered here). BUT-I am seeking more experienced riders about a wind shield that will help. I am 5'5". And I wanted to know what would suite me as a short rider?
I don't mind some wind, but at 55 mph, it isn't fun anymore. I dont like the look of a very tall one; is there a medium WS that will work for me?
Thanks and happy days ahead! :ugeek:

Welcome!
In my experience, being 5'8", 170lbs and having done a lot of highway cruising averaging 55-65mph, I find relaxing a on the bars and being a bit loose. In time you will "trust" the bikes ability to track well and sort of auto correct when the gusts hit. Semi's give you an advantage because you can anticipate the gust coming. I found the valleys to be the greatest "fun" with the crosswinds and again once you get your technique down on the bars and being a bit loose, they are quite manageable as well, I even find them fun! I should add that I have the Givi mid size windscreen on my bike and am very happy with its performance.
Good luck and happy scooting.
Happiness is two wheels and a full tank of gas!

If you drive (maybe) 40 miles and the bike isn't fun anymore you probably need to take a longer test drive to find a more suitable bike next time.

Ride back to the dealer and try again?
