Just got home after an interesting ride over the Moors, basically cloudy, cloudy, BLIND due to the low and direct sunlight. I have now got home safely, but I am interested and motivated to get a tinted visor sorted for my LS2 helmet.
I know in the UK the plod tends to whinge, so I am wondering those in the UK what options do you use? I wear glasses and while I could get a prescription pair of sunglasses my preferred optician takes two weeks at best preparing new pairs. I am interested in both stick on visors to my current clear, and if I can find them additional pre-tinted visors for my LS2 helmet.

Just get a tinted visor. I've been riding for 37 years with a race visor and have never had the slightest problem with the police
They are illegal for road use but as you you mentioned, you may have more chance of winning the lottery (not really) than the police stopping you and pulling you up on your visor. Some helmets have enough spare room for shades to fit and still be comfortable.
I have tried Paul but with me needing glasses finding one that is comfortable with glasses with the internal visor down, and does not make my forehead ache is a real bind. Also if a tinted visor is illegal, why then are we permitted internal sun visors which are bloody tinted!

Yes the high vis crowd will no longer nod in approval but heh, I can live with that.
You can flip a tinted visor up when visibility is poor and still have the external visor to see through. With an external tinted visor it's dark visor or nothing protecting your eyes. That's why.
Just pull up, and change them! it's not like your rebuilding the engine the side of the road, unless your an oaf you can change a visor in under a minute. I quite like the idea of a normal helmet but when the sun is low and blinding i can comfortably wear my glasses without being blinded by the sodding sun, and if that upsets MR EU regulator then he can go swivel on a Prius.

Shark helmets such as the 700 series have an internal flip sun visor and seem to have quite a lot of clearance for glasses and are very comfy (unlike other makes the 700 at least also seems to be good internal sized for the size of helmet you buy rather than too tight and needing a size up). I've tried wearing shades with my el'cheapo Box BX1 and they fit just fine - size L and I have a 60cm circumference head.
You can have a visor thats tinted up to a value of 25 it must let 75% of ambient light in saying that if you carry a clear one with you 9/10 the police don't say nothing as you have the ability to swop it out before it gets dark
I have an HJC IS-17 which also has enough room for glasses behind the flip down sun visor.
It has a pinlock visor which doesn't steam up, but glasses and the flip down sun visor can steam up.
I'd say you might aswell go with a tinted visor, chances are you won't be stopped by any copper, ever.
Probably best to keep a clear visor underneath your seat, just in case some jobsworthy pleb decides to pull you over, although even that is highly unlikely.
Must admit I'm also looking into getting one, bit torn between a silver iridium and a black tinted though.

Clear visor with sunglasses is so post middle age BMW rider. Slight smell of wee and a beard.
I have experimented with tinted visors but recently bought a Shox helmet that has a built in sun visor you can lower and raise as required. The sun never stays out long in Scotland so it pays to be adaptable.
Bit of both, got some tinted film, adding it to the top of the visior not in my direct view, should cutout the sunlight that is just at the top of my visor on my return journey home.
