Typical... Exhaust comes today... and it's raining, for a week!!!!

Not raining here, just been out and fettled my silencer after the joint started blowing. Again.
Gasket adjusted and all quiet now. Till next time.
Plus I now know the pads still have some meat left on them which is nice.
Tried to get the plastic and metal heatshields off to paint the silencer.
Alas the allen bolts are made of cheese and the allen key just ripped two of them circular.
So will now have to drill them out and replace with some nice stainless ones from ebay £1.40 for 10 as opposed to Honda's £1.25 for a single cheesy one.
Seems like every time I go to do a job on this scooter something goes tits up.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a Exhaust Gasket for the PCX...
not sure whether it matters if its the new model or old model? should they still be the same size?
on eBay they're showing 2010-2011 and 2012-2013.

Have a look at your registration document, it will tell you what model it is, starts wih WW125EX
You need that info to get the correct part, they are not the same for all PCX 125s.

Got the Exhaust, but it comes with a Gasket anyway :-/
should be fun trying to put it all on though!

I could put it together indoors can't I,
so it's full (silencer/pipe etc) and then just swap it on the Bike when the rains stopped (for a bit)

Much easier to fit the header pipe first then attach the silencer.

and then this bit must go inside the silencer up against the first bit I put in,
but it's REAL tight so i'm guessing it will have to have some force behind it to get it in...

and yep just realised gn2 as the position of the silencer on the pipe will need to be in the correct position...

I have been really tempted to place an order for one of these exhausts. So very interested in all the pictures and info you get on fitting this JoJo.

Well, finally got the old one off.....
but the pipe bracket thing doesnt seem to fit over the 2 threads,
I compared it to the stock one and the holes are slightly off (unless it's just me)
but can't seem to get the bracket over both threads!!

Stock one is 4.5cm between each hole
Leo Vince one is 4cm between each hole..
maybe that's why it won't go on!

if you can get the malossi, try it, it fits perfect, no mod...all pieces fit without any problem.....hard to believe you can spend this type of money and an accessory it needs hard modification. The Malossi fits the PCX, not any other bike.

Stepdad suggested he drill both holes slightly bigger so they'll fit over the threads from the engine... this a good idea?
as again.. stock is 4.5cm between each hole, and this LeoVince is 4cm so not that far out.

Means you won't be able to return it for the correct part.
If it doesn't fit, you've got the wrong part and it needs to go back.

Hi Jodie,

Ok that explains the size, holes are always measured centre to centre hence my 50mm .. and your 40mm !!

Can’t explain why this won’t fit your bike as all these flanges have the same part no stamped on them, and same no as yours, and no one has so far ever had a problem with this.
But your stepdad is right, if you are to drill out a couple of mm on each side then the flange would fit over the threads, just make sure when done that the flange fits flush with engine part OK.

Normally we would check this out with the factory but they are still closed for they annual holidays !    By the way check your chassis number and email over, I’ll see what I can find out.

Flange was drilled, went up a drill size (from 9, to 9.5, and then 10) finally got it over the threads!!!
and then the bolt into the swing arm threaded it (with the washer on)...
I aint a strong person and it took just a few turns and decided to thread!
took the washer off and put the bolt back on and it's done up ok at the moment (seems sturdy)
but will buy some LocTite now and use that just so the bolt doesn't come loose due to the vibration etc.

Did a video of it (with the baffle in) sounds nice, but will obviously need to take it out for a proper ride,
doesn't sound as 'deep' on the video though, but it does sound nice..
again, pissing down all day, and supposed to be for the next 7 days so will have to update you all when I can...
will do a better one when i'm out in the open (and not packed in the Garden)

(oh, and will be cleaning that swing arm as well, gets dirty so easily and hard to clean!)
