That's the point I have been trying to make for years. All long wearing tires slide. Without a duplicate bike and another rider to swap, it is impossible to compare tires directly. Maybe the Pirelli's are a sticky 3,000 mile tire for those that want ultimate grip. Motorcycle tires are available in 2,000 mile street racing rubber.
.
I ride too many miles to have tires like that. My IRC rear lasted 10,000 miles and I have 9,000 miles on the Michelin rear and it is still good. The Original IRC front is still on at 19,000.

If long lasting tyres slide more than softer less hard-wearing tyres (makes ssnse) that does not gell with why some say the city grips grip better than the irc - after all, they say on the rear the city grips last twice as long if not more than the irc's.
Yesterday I had a slight wobble on my bike, but it was not the bike but me! (I came to a stop and put my foot down and my boot slipped on the wet road surface - me and the bike tilted to the side by a fair bit). Not a tyre problem, just light rain and whatever was on the road surface and my boots slipping.

Indeed some do say that, but its all in the mind.
