Looking to buy a new PCX

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a new 2015 model PCX in the UK.

What sort of offers/deals can I expect to negotiate from a dealer? I'll be doing about 500-550 miles per month and from reading around it sounds like I could be needing a service every 5 or 6 months. Has anybody had a dealer offer free service or two?

Why so cheap? I'll look more tomorrow but do they still come with 2 years warranty?

Not keen on the brown at all! Can't go for a 150cc either as I'll only be riding on a CBT.

In regards to your servicing question,

This has been discussed a fair few times on here I have also seen it talked about on other forums.

The bottom line is honda DO charge a fair amount for servicing. And over a couple of years actually takes the 'cheap' out of owning a scooter. Also remember tyres won't last as long either.

What I and many others have done is have the first 600m service done and continue to to service the bike yourself from then on. Which would take the price from £70-£150 ( typical costs) to just £15 or so for the oil. It takes 10 minutes to do this.

That's purely a suggestion and obviously is down to you the person who will own the scooter to make a decision in terms of servicing as you are right with them miles will require a good few oil changes. You also have your belt and rollers at 10k?? I think, again it's much much cheaper to do this yourself compared to going to the dealership,

There small simple scooter and very easy to work on once you know where everything's located.

Will doing services myself void any warranty? How long do tires last on average?

This cheap scooter decision is starting to seem expensive. I wouldn't mind doing stuff myself in the garage to keep costs down but not at the expense of warranties and re-sale value.

In the UK, yes it will.
The new Yamaha Nmax has 4000 mile service intervals and also has ABS.
IMO its a better scooter than the PCX.

I was looking at the NMAX as well but it doesn't have as good a dealer network with the nearest dealer 20+ miles and the nearest Honda dealer is 1 mile.

Also the NMAX doesn't have the 12v accessory socket which id find useful.

I'm sure some owners of the earlier PCX models have since fitted a 12 volt accessory socket so you could probably do the same on the NMAX. Just a thought.
