Fuel cap problem
Recently I have tried to understand that anatomy of my bike (PCX 2013) by taking bits and pieces apart and putting them back. Yesterday I noticed that the fuel cap was not clicked to the base after closing, and later found a small spring underneath my bike (guess that was the missing link). The problem is, I don't know where the spring should go ... Anyone can share a picture of the part so that I can make reference to put the spring back on?? Thanks a lot.

Re: Fuel cap problem
hi cathy fung,, welcome to the forums!
well the first problem is taking stuff apart that isn't broken lol, i would advised against this in future!
Which part of the fuel cap are we talking here? Is it the lid that closes, or the actual fuel cap that you twist to lock?

Re: Fuel cap problem
Um ... I belong to the safe but adventurous type, just playing with the bits that are not going to do severe damage if I failed. But thanks for the reminder anyway.
Re my question, it's about the plastic lid which should open upon pressing the button next to the key. I have drove all the way with the lid open today ...

Re: Fuel cap problem
Welcome!
Lucky you didn't lose the spring. It hooks into the notch below the pivot on that hook that holds the door shut. That's what keeps tension-forward on the hook. Where it hooks at it's rear is a hole in the hook's assembly. You'll see it.
Enjoy!

Establishes a sense of ownership and satisfies control over ones machine, sadly I understand this. I wish someone made an aftermarket fuel cap for the PCX. If there is one stock part that screams toss me in the trash its the fuel cap.cathy.fung wrote:Recently I have tried to understand that anatomy of my bike (PCX 2013) by taking bits and pieces apart and putting them back.

Re: Fuel cap problem
What makes the fuel cap(not the access door) bad?

Oh I don't expect Honda to customize under the access door. I get we need to keep the cost down but you can't find one more generic in a truckload of todays fuel caps https://www.google.com/search?q=fuel+ca ... +fuel+caps

Re: Fuel cap problem
So Cathy, didja get the latch back together? If you really want to get into the mechanics of the bike, the manual is reasonably priced from several guys on flea-bay.
